Accountant Job in Nairobi

Our client a leading Manufacturing company in Tatu City is seeking to fill the role of a Plant Accountant.

The ideal candidate should be a finance generalist with a strong background in Inventory and Cost accounting.

This role acts as an audit desk for all plant inventors and processes all & manages all payments documentation and is as well the custodian of petty cash for the plant.

Main Purpose

·         To provide management with financial information for decision making, in cost and pricing decisions.

·         To analyse & appraise product development projects.

·         To process all supplier payments for the plant and ensure supplier and customer accounts are well reconciled.

·         To manage plant Inventory.

The successful candidate will be tasked the following duties;

Responsibilities

·         Audit all invoices against delivery notes and purchase orders.

·         Budget variance analysis to explain differences between actual and budgeted production overheads

·         Conducting and reporting stock take outcomes

·         Investigate and follow up on all reported stock variances.

·         Manage & Issue petty cash on need basis

·         Managing & reporting Inventory balances & production Variances.

·         Monitoring & reporting on Product Cost

·         Preparation of cost of sales budget

·         Prepare a report for management approval to adjust the ERP system numbers.(write off reports)

·         Prepare all plant supplier payments as per contract payment terms.

·         Preparing & reporting on the cost of sales budget and cost of the product

·         Preparing and conducting monthly and quarterly stock takes in all stores and warehouses.

·         Product costing including accurate and up-to-date landed costs in the ERP system

·         Review and address issues arising from the weekly cycle counts.

·         Tagging of all mineral plant assets

·         Weekly review of production job yields

Qualifications

·         Bachelor of Commerce Accounting/ Finance/ Economics Options

·         CPA 4

·         3 years’ experience preferably in cost accounting in a busy manufacturing setup

·         Hands on experience in SAP/ SYSPRO ERP Systems
