Responsibilities
·         Assessing patients and clients and establishing health care needs.
·         Planning and implementing nursing care inventions based on patient health needs.
·         Evaluating healthcare outcomes on patients.
·         Making appropriate discharge plan for the patients.
·         Maintaining patients’ records.
·         Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment.
·         Ensuring safe custody for in-patient belongings.
Qualifications
·         Certificate in Kenya enrolled nurse or Kenya enrolled community nurse from a recognized training institution.
·         Enrolled Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
·         Valid Practical license from Nursing Council of Kenya.

Assistant Health Records & Information Management Officer III
JOB GROUP H (for Afya Pwani staff)
Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under guidance of a senior officer and experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level entail
·         Receiving and documenting patients at hospital reception.
·         Registering and booking appointments for patients to clinics and consultants.
·         Storing and retrieving medical records and documents.
·         Preparing clinics.
·         Updating bed bureau.
·         Editing of patient case records.
·         Gathering information from different sources.

·         Capturing data from service points.
·         Maintaining record safety and confidentiality.
·         Storing and retrieving medical records.
·         Balancing daily bed returns.
·         Creating and maintaining master index.
·         Updating patient master index.
·         Directing patients to relevant clinics.
·         Scheduling of patients to the consultants and specialty clinics.
·         Assigning codes to diseases and surgical procedures according to the International classification of Diseases and Procedures in Medicine.
·         Preparing Health records and report.
Qualifications
·         Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution.
·         Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Hospital Director
JOB GROUP ‘R’
Qualifications
·         Must be a Kenyan citizen with 10 years experience in senior position in Health department.
·         MB chB, MD, BDS or equivalent
·         A relevant postgraduate, clinical specialty MPH, Msc. (Health policy planning management), MA (Hospital management), Msc. (Health services planning and management), MBA or post graduate Diploma or certificate in management.
·         Deep knowledge in planning, coordinating, controlling and directing public hospital health services provision
·         Sufficient knowledge of clinical practices, procedures and standards.
Responsibilities
·         Provide general and administrative services to the hospital
·         Review formulation and implementation of health and administrative policies, procedures and programs in the hospital
·         Effective supervision, deployment, discipline, training and development of staff
·         Co-coordinating major health technical functions and ensuing timely completion of tasks.
·         Liaising wit other professional and technical departments heads to improve overall management and delivery of health care services.
·         Promoting discipline and professionalism in delivery of health services
·         Participate in the development of annual budget, in line with approved budgets and spending plan.
·         Ensure effective financial management in accordance with Government financial and accounting procures.
·         Where necessary in collaboration with the Chief Officer of Health, revise plans and budgets and progress to ensure planned activities are completed.
·         Any other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Officer of health.
