HR Officer

Job Summary
We are looking for a Human Resource Officer to join our team. The HRO will be responsible for delivery of various HR processes, projects and activities, ensuring excellent customer service, with due consideration given to approved policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in HR / Business Administration or related field.
·         Higher National Diploma in HR.
·         CHRP will be an added advantage.
·         At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in HR.
Responsibilities
·         Coordinate the recruitment process for assigned vacancies.
·         Maintain, screen and update the recruitment database with applications and interviews held
·         Coordinate onboarding activities.
·         Preparation of staff employment letters as assigned.
·         Ensure the company’s departmental and subsidiary company organograms are up to date.
·         Monitor expiry of probation periods and employment contracts and take necessary action.
·         Work with the business units to coordinate consistent update of job descriptions for all positions.
·         Carry out exit interviews and analyse information for reporting purposes.
·         Assist in compiling the quarterly HR reports.
·         Schedule and coordinate all logistics for staff training sessions.
·         Coordinate the NITA application and reimbursement process by making timely and correct applications and reimbursement claims and thereafter preparing relevant reports.
·         Primary liaison between staff and medical provider for all medical cover processing and reports.
·         Extract and analyse leave data and prepare necessary reports.
·         Update HR forms, policies and procedures as required.
·         Assist in scheduling and coordination of staff welfare activities
·         Raise LPOs and petty cash requisitions for the department as assigned


Legal Counsel

Job Summary
To provide consistent and reputable legal services to the Organization by ensuring, compliance with statutory requirements. The role is responsible for drafting, review and proper execution of contracts including managing the documentation of the same. This role has the responsibility of effectively managing litigation, running with various legal projects that may arise from time to time and continuously managing external relationships, as they relate to the role.
Qualifications
·         Minimum of a Bachelors in Laws Degree from a recognized University.
·         Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
·         Must have 1 – 2 years’ post admission experience.
·         Must have experience working in a corporate legal department/ busy law firm handling commercial law.
·         Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
·         Current practicing certificate.
Responsibilities
Advisory
·         Provide legal advice and guidance to limit legal exposure across the organization.
·         Carry out research on various legal issues and questions as they may arise.
Document Management and Process Implementation
·         Drafting, review, and execution of legal documents (agreements, contracts, leases, licences).
·         Ensuring legal agreements and contracts maintain expected standards and protection clauses.
·         Managing sign off, execution, completion and storage of legal documents.
·         Copying, Scanning, filing and indexing of legal documents- agreements and correspondence.
Protection of the Business and Compliance
·         Registration of business critical brand names and other IPR.
·         Liaise with user departments and regulatory authorities e.g. NEMA and County Councils in obtaining and updating business permits, approvals and authorizations.
·         Undertake due diligence on business partners.
Litigation
·         Primary contact person for the relevant litigation portfolio.
·         Receive court documents and maintain litigation related files.
·         Liaise with relevant stakeholders in preparing briefs, issuing of instructions, providing statements and documentation as required and ensuring court attendance by witnesses.
·         Court attendance as required.
·         Maintain and update litigation status report for all litigation involving the business.
Professional Membership Coordination
·         Coordinate Law Society Kenya training calendar, Membership and Library Cards for the Legal Team.
·         Coordinate subscriptions to relevant professional bodies and industry and regulatory bodies.
Legal Projects
·         Lead in execution of various legal projects as they relate to processes and real estate business.
