Position: Line Cook

Our client is a gourmet burger restaurant founded in 2016 specializing in African influenced burgers, sides and drinks is looking to recruit a Line Cook.
Responsibilities and Duties
·         Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

·         Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, making beef patties etc.)
·         Cooking food with various utensils or grillers
·         Check food while cooking to stir or turn
·         Flexible to help with morning prep
·         Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
·         Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
·         Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
·         Check quality of ingredients
·         Stock take and handovers
·         Monitor stock and alert Kitchen Supervisor of any shortages
Requirements
·         Diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
·         Minimum experience of 1 year as a cook.
·         Proven experience as cook
·         Experience in using cutting tools, cookware
·         Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
·         Ability to follow all sanitation ad health and hygiene procedures
·         Ability to take criticism positively and make changes to practice accordingly
·         Ability to work in a team
·         Very good communication skills
·         Excellent physical condition and stamina

Position: Assistant Shift Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Ensuring that checklists and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift
·         Observing server performance and encouraging improvement where necessary.
·         Ensure staffing levels for branch are maintained.
·         Organizing and conducting pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff.
·         Ensuring that steps of service as outlined in training materials are being followed on a daily basis
·         Soliciting feedback from guests concerning the service and food & beverage offering.
·         Completing other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor or Directors.
Skills and Requirements
·         Diploma in Hotel Management
·         Minimum experience of 1 year in supervisory.
·         Ability to build rapport with customers.
·         The candidate must be physically fit.
·         Being a team player is essential.
·         Must demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards.
·         Ability to utilizes traditional software programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and/or Outlook.
·         Proven work experience as a server

Responsibilities and Duties
·         Report for duty punctually, in the correct uniform, clean and neatly pressed with your name-tag clearly visible.
·         Greet and escort customers to their tables
·         Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
·         Prepare tables so that they are clear or rubbish and are clean and presentable
·         Inform customers about the day’s specials
·         Offer menu recommendations upon request
·         Up-sell additional products when appropriate
·         Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
·         Operate the till when scheduled to do so
·         Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
·         Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
·         Serve food and drink orders
·         Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
·         Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
·         Deliver cheques and collect bill payments
·         Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
·         Follow all relevant health department regulations
·         Provide excellent customer service to guests
·         Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons
·         Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks
·         Assessing bar customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations
Requirements
·         Diploma in Hotel Management.
·         Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
·         Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system
·         Basic math skills
