Carpentry

KICD GRADE 11
Responsibilities
The Artisan will report to the Senior Estates Officer.
·         Making and maintaining wood works in buildings and other structures;
·         Making and repairing furniture;
·         Carrying out routine checks for repairs and maintenance of furniture and office equipment;
·         Making requisitions for materials;

Qualifications
·         Passed the National Trade Test II certificate of the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution Interested

Studio Technical Operator
KICD Grade 10
The Studio Technical Operator will report to the Assistant Director Technical Services.
Responsibilities
·         Assisting in the operation of various broadcasting and information equipment’s in radio/television/film studios, computer laboratories, engineering laboratories and dark room.
·         In addition, the officer will assist in the demonstration on the use of the equipment to the trainees and will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior trainer.
Qualifications
·         KCSE C-(Minus).
·         Diploma in Mass Communication, Media Studies/Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Computer literacy; and
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Assistant Engineering Technician
KICD GRADE 9
The Assistant Engineering Technician will report to the Assistant Director Technical Services.
Responsibilities
·         Designing of drawings and specifications;
·         Installing electrical/electronic equipment; and
·         Maintaining electrical /electronic equipment and systems in the Institute.
Qualifications
·         Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya or relevant professional body;
·         Computer literacy; and
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Assistant Security Officer
KICD Grade 8
The Assistant Security Officer will report to the Senior Security Officer.
Responsibilities
·         Ensuring that Institutes’assets are secured;
·         Implementing security policies;3.Preparing work plans and budgets for security requirements;
·         Coordinating security operations with public law enforcement agencies;
·         Developing emergency management and contingency procedures;
·         Identifying, investigating and resolving security breaches;
·         Keeping abreast with emerging security challenges and devising appropriate interventions to ensure the organization security is maintained at all times.
·         Monitoring all surveillance cameras and CCTV remote viewer programs.
Qualifications
·         Diploma in any of the following disciplines:-Criminology; Criminology and Criminal Justice; Criminology and Fraud Management; Criminology and Security Management; Security Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Undergone a six (6) weeks approved security course at CID training school or an approved security course from the military or its equivalent
·         Served as senior security warden or equivalent for a period of three (3) years.
·         Proven experience in the use of CCTV and surveillance cameras in the security function.
·         A First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution;
·         A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police; and
·         Computer literacy;
·         Fulfill the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Supply Chain Management
KICD Grade 7
The Supply Chain Management Officer will report to the Assistant Director Supply Chain Management.
Responsibilities
·         Preparing, advertising and distributing procurement documents;
·         Maintaining up-to-date contract register;
·         Sourcing for suppliers through request for quotations;
·         Ensuring timely delivery of goods, services and works;
·         Conducting market research and surveys;
·         Ensuring safe custody of stores;
·         Recommending stores requisitions for issuing;
·         Monitoring the movement of stores;
·         Coordinating identification of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus stores and equipment for disposal;
·         Participating in tender opening and evaluation; and

·         Complying with procurement regulation.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Procurement and Supply Chain Management; Purchasing and Supplies Management; Supply Chain Management; Procurement and Contract Management; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Procurement and Logistics Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Full membership to a professional body;
·         Computer literacy; and
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Planning Officer
KICD GRADE 7
The Planning Officers will report to the Assistant Director, Planning Services.
Responsibilities
·         Collecting, collating, processing and interpreting statistical data;
·         Implementing and monitoring of the Institute’s strategic plan and service charter;
·         Implementing and evaluating the Institute’s performance contract, master plan;
·         Developing departmental work plans and aligning them to the budget;
·         Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on progress in the implementation of projects and programmes;
·         Conducting economic analysis and strategies;
·         Preparing Ministerial Public Expenditure Review (MPER) and Mid-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget; and
·         Providing input in the preparation of development plans.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Finance or Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution; and
·         Member of a relevant professional body;
·         Computer literacy;
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Legal Services
KICD Grade 5
The Assistant Director –Legal Services will report to the Director.
Responsibilities
·         Liaising with departments to identify and ensure that legal risks have been mitigated and appropriate courses of action have been taken;
·         Continuously monitoring compliance with statutory obligations and provide professional Legal advice to the Management;
·         Advice management on legal matters relating to operations and action on legal cases instituted against the Institute;
·         Provide secretarial services to the Council, and to the Senior Management of the Institute;
·         Advice on procurement contracts and ensures that they comply with the relevant laws and regulations;
·         Represent the Institute in court cases;
·         Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director.
Qualifications
·         Bachelors of Law (LLB) from a recognized Institution;
·         Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;
·         Advocate of the High Court of Kenya With A Valid Practicing Certificate;
·         Registered member of the Law society of Kenya in good standing;
·         A Member of the Certified Public Secretaries;
·         Proficiency in computer use and applications; and
·         Demonstrated outstanding professional competence in legal work and company secretarial practice.

HR Management Officer
KICD GRADE7
The Human Resource Management Officer will report to the Deputy Director HRM&D.
Responsibilities
·         Implementing staff induction and orientation programmes;
·         Implementing work place health and safety;
·         Administering compensation and benefit scheme;
·         Undertaking an inventory of vacant positions and preparing reports for decision making;
·         Implementing human resource management policies, regulations, procedures and systems;
·         Preparing various human resource reports;
·         Implementing human resource decisions within existing rules, regulations and procedure; and
·         Complying with human resource statutory and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:-Human Resource Management; Human Resource Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Economics; Sociology; Business Administration; Public Administration; Commerce with Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         A registered member of a recognized professional body;
·         Computer literacy;
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
