Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) is a registered Kenyan NGO with a main office in Kisumu and regional offices in 6 counties of Kenya. IRDO’s principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate public health research and intervention program that improve the health status of individuals and local communities.

We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to immediately fill the following positions:
Nurse Counsellor
2 Positions

Job Summary: The nurse’s role will be primarily to support the clinical procedures during screening and enrolment of study participants and offer HIV testing services end referral services to study participants.
Location: Kisumu with occasional travel to the field within Kisumu County
Reporting to: Study Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Screening for study eligibility, consenting, providing HIV testing services, administering questionnaires and collecting and processing samples.
·         Assessing participants for PrEP eligibility, provide adherence counselling, and perform clinical procedures.
·         Working with Peer Supporters of PrEP participants to improve adherence to study procedures and retention in the study
·         Perform quality improvement procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies
·         Diploma in Nursing or Community Health Registered Nurse from KMTC or equivalent recognized institution.
·         MUST be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
·         At least 2 years of relevant work experience in public or private healthcare management.
·         HTS provider- trained on new algorithm and certified by NACOP (mandatory)
·         Knowledge of Kenya NASCOP guidelines on PrEP provision (mandatory)
·         Previous experience in research involving PrEP provision to key populations preferred.
·         Proficiency in computer application packages (Ms Word. Excel, PowerPoint).
·         Flexible: can work long hours, including weekends end public holidays when necessary.

Data Analyst
1 Position

Job Summary: The successful applicant will be responsible for performing venous date entry, data accessing, copying and cleaning of EMR, also processing and analysis functions
Location: Kisumu with regular travel to the field in Homabay County
Reporting to: Study Coordinator
Essential Requirements:
·         Must hold a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Nursing.
·         Training in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management Systems (IMIS) or Biostatistics.
·         Minimum of two years’ work experience in a busy government health facility with different EMR systems and proficient in accessing, copying and cleaning of EMR.

·         Excellent knowledge and experience in at least one statistical analysis package (SAS, STATA, SPSS, R): experience in managing electronic data collection In clinical settings added advantage.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Participate in design of data collection tools.
·         Participate in data retrieval from the EMR, data entry, cleaning, analysis and interpretation.
·         Carry out date downloading end uploading from mobile devices, oversee data entry into the Remote Date Entry system.
·         Collate, query and clean field data; perform basic data manipulations and analyses.

Study Coordinator
1 Position

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be the overall in-charge of all aspects of study implementation.
He/She will ensure data of the highest quality are collected; specifically, s/he will support the efforts of the PIs, other study investigators, research manager and internal monitor In ensuring timely enrollment and retention of study participants.
Key roles for the position:
·         Support the development of the study protocol and associated documents including consent forms and questionnaires.
·         Oversee submission processes to regulatory bodies including ethics review committees.
·         Prepare and oversee compliance with standard operating procedures for study activities.
·         Conduct community entry activities: participate in hiring and training of study staff: and oversee participants recruitment end data collection, entry and submission.
·         Supervise study staff and ensure they follow study protocol and SOPs.
·         Prepare and submit reports; and participate In data analysis end writing of abstracts and manuscripts.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Degree in project management, social or community studies, public health or related field: Master’s degree preferred.
2. At least 5 years of research experience, three in leadership position(s).
3. Demonstrated computer literacy.
4. Demonstrated experience in data analysis and/or publications in peer-reviewed journals.
