Job Title: HIV / AIDs Project Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To spearhead achievement of project goals by working with the government and relevant stakeholders, leading in planning, coordination, implementation, reporting, and supervising of HIV care and treatment within the provided guidelines.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Result #1: Project Implementation
1. Review and update detailed implementation work plan
2. Increase CHVs, peer educators and community awareness on HIV prevention, HIV testing and care services
3. Engage community to enhance disclosure, psychosocial support and adherence and defaulter tracing in the community
4. Conduct support group meetings for PLWHA, children care givers, women and men
5. Capacity build CHVs on HCBC and support them to provide adherence counseling, defaulter tracing and treatment literacy to PLWHA
Key Result#2: Project Monitoring and Reporting
1. Coordinate data collection in line with project needs
2. Prepare and submit quality reports in line with donor and FH guidelines
3. Plan and prepare monitoring visits to health facilities and community units
4. Coordinate and participate in data quality assessments
Key Result #3: collaboration & program budget
1. Hold sensitization, quarterly and semester review meetings with health facilities County officials and other stakeholders
2. Develop and maintain collaboration, networking and partnership with other stakeholders and government line ministries
3. Work with the Cluster manager to oversee correct budget expenditure
QUALIFICATIONS
·         Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to serving the poor in line with FH Christian foundation and beliefs
·         should be a strong team player and have ability to work with teams
·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with local communities, partners and government authorities.
·         Excellent communications skills – both oral and written
·         Highly motivated, self-starter able to work on own initiative in difficult conditions
·         Proficiency in computer skills is a must
·         Proven field based knowledge and experience in HIV and AIDS related program
·         Knowledge of Management of HIV&AIDS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
·         First Degree (Bachelors) in Sociology, Social Work, Community Work, Counseling, Public health or equivalent plus 3 years of NGO Project in HIV field implementation
LANGUAGE SKILLS
·         Proficiency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To support HIV project in FH Kenya through development of relevant tools, implementation and monitoring to provide information relating to progress towards achieving the set program goals.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key result # 1 – Monitoring and evaluation needs assessment
1. Determine information needs of the project
2. Identify M&E project needs for support.
3. Identify and design performance questions, key indicators and targets for the project component.
Key result # 2 – Data management and reporting
1. Collect, compile and analyze data and reports and create consolidated progress reports.
2. Support establishment of data collection systems within programs when requested and review existing data collection tools on a regular basis.
3. Review monitoring reports and assess interim impacts and causes of potential bottlenecks in implementation.
4. Support teams review and reflect on project implementation processes to enhance learning and replication of best practices
5. Support staffs to comply with set M&E systems.
Key result # 3: M&E information sharing
1. Provide training on M&E and facilitate M&E design and implementation processes with implementing partners and primary stakeholders.
2. Provide support to implement the M&E plan, revise and update performance questions, indicators, methods, formats and analytical processes.
3. Verify performance information provided by program teams to ensure accuracy
4. Enhance community M&E mechanisms/structures through participatory processes
5. Follow up on project quality implementation through regular project field visits
QUALIFICATIONS
·         Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to serving the poor in line with FH Christian foundation and beliefs
·         Experience in research and community participatory methodologies especially in HIV
·         Strong facilitation skills
·         Strong analytical and report writing skills
·         Good understanding of project planning, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation processes.
·         Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities, organizational relationships, social and cultural constraints and realities, and environmental condition.
·         Knowledge of statistical computer packages e.g. SPSS, STATA, EPI-INFO etc.
·         Knowledge on GIS is an added advantage and excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
·         Proficient in MS Office Suite and highly organized and able to multitask.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Diploma – in Monitoring and Evaluation, Health Records, Social Science, Statistics, project management, community development or a related field, and at least two years, experience in an NGO set up.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
