The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) is established under the Tourism Act, No. 28 of 2011 (the Act). KICC’s mandate is to promote business of meetings, conferences and exhibitions.
KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Director Business Development Services reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for providing business development guidance by developing and implementing the national meetings incentives for conferences and exhibitions strategy.

Responsibilities
·         Development and implementation of all programs aimed at marketing the Centre both locally and internationally
·         Development and implementation of The Centre’s strategic business development plans in line with the corporate strategic plan
·         Develop and implement marketing programs aimed at increasing the Centre’s market share
·         Bid for international conferences and exhibitions
·         Development and implementation of goals, objectives and policies of the Business Development Directorate including Sales, Marketing, Digital communications and business projects
·         Oversee the development of promotional, advertising and marketing materials for the organization
·         Develop new products, services and market expansion programs
·         Develop, plan and direct all business projects which can enhance the business of the organization
·         Develop and review pricing policy from time to time to reflect on the prevailing market rates
·         Study and analyze market trends to ensure the Corporation is in tandem with the prevailing markets
Requirements
·         Have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in senior management level in tourism, hospitality or related sector;
·         Have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution;
·         Have a Master’s Degree in Business management or related field from a recognized institution;
·         Be a member of a professional body;
·         Have a certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
·         Be proficient in computer applications;
·         Demonstrate professional competency and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.

Manager, Human Resource & Administration

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Manager, Human Resource and Administrations reports to the Director Corporate Services and is responsible for offering advisory services to management on HR and Administration matters and deal with all staff matters including recruitment & selection, placement, retention, training and development, discipline, administration of staff welfare and separation.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;
·         Forecasting and planning on human resource needs
·         Managing the Corporation’s recruitment and selection process;
·         Coordination of training and development of staff in the Corporation;
·         Coordination of staff performance management, reward and sanctions system;
·         Development of corporation’s mentoring and coaching programs
·         Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the staff succession plans, development, mentoring, coaching and internship programs
·         Advising the Directorate on matters relating to human resources management, records and administration
·         Review and development of the human resource, records and administration policies, procedures and processes and oversee their implementation
·         Management, maintenance and storage staff records
·         Overseeing the payroll processing and ensuring compliance to statutory obligations
·         Championing change management programs in the Corporation
·         Coordinating the preparation of periodic progress reports.
·         Development of Human Resources, Records and Administration budget and work plan
·         Oversee records management
·         Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations related to Health & Safety, HIV/AIDS, Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse, Gender and Disability Mainstreaming
Requirements
·         Eight(8) years relevant work experience; three (3) years should be in management
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
·         Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Be a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management;
·         Valid practicing certificate;
·         Certificate in Management Course or its equivalent lasting not less than four (4) weeks;

Manager, Planning

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Manager Planning reports to Director Corporate Planning and is responsible for Coordinating, developing and reviewing of five year Corporate Strategic Vision, Annual Work Plans, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Corporate Performance Contract and priorities linked to the National and sectoral goal.
Responsibilities
·         Coordinate the development and review of five-year Corporate Strategic Vision, Objectives and priorities, linked to the National and sectoral goal and priorities.
·         Coordinate the development and implementation of annual corporate plan based the corporate strategy, budgetary requirements
·         Participate in developing national sector plans and budgets.
·         Prepare Quarterly and Annual Corporate performance contracting reports
·         Participate in the financial planning process to ensure alignment of budgetary provisions to the strategic objectives
·         Provide strategic advice on potential projects and initiatives that will facilitate achievement of corporate strategic objectives.
·         Coordinate the development and implementation of corporate performance contract from identifying targets, negotiation, vetting and signing
·         Undertake periodic monitoring of the implementation of KICC Corporate Strategy and evaluation of performance on the corporation
·         Be in charge of all the functions of the performance coordination services department
Requirements
·         A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) years should be in management
·         Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Strategy, Marketing, Business Administration or any other related field from a recognized institution
·         Master’s Degree in Economics, Strategy, Marketing, Business Administration and any other related field from a recognized institution
·         Be a member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM)

Business Project Manager

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Business Project Manager reports to the Director Business Development Services and is responsible for pursuing new business opportunities in a quest to ensure that the existing organization’s revenue streams are augmented through new business projects.
Responsibilities
·         Prioritize, plan and coordinate project development activities according to customer needs
·         Supervise business projects team on daily basis to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budgets
·         Determine resource requirements and identify resources with right skills to successfully execute projects
·         Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
·         Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products.
·         Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
·         Maintains Business Project management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
·         Maintains product management staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Requirements
·         Have a minimum period eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at a level of principal Business Projects Officer;
·         Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: – Commerce, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
·         Have a Master’s Degree from a recognized institution
·         Be a registered member of a relevant professional body.
·         Have a certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
·         Be proficient in computer applications.

Events Manager

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Events Manager reports to the Director Operations and is responsible for Production and execution of events, exhibitions and food and beverage contracts execution.
Responsibilities
·         Production and execution of events, exhibitions and food and beverage contracts execution.
·         Managing contracts for catered food and related products
·         Ensure standards and regulatory compliance food and beverage and events from conception to completion.
·         Planning and Coordination of Events, design and development
·         Identify opportunities for events through market survey

·         On site event management and inspection
·         Managing the process of events, completion and wind up
·         Administration of post event activities and processes
·         Communicating and developing client relationships
·         Strategizing to maximize on returns related to events
·         Managing operational and administrative activities for effective and efficient delivery
·         Planning and implementation of event budgets
·         Compliance with all health and safety standards and conducting product research.
Requirements
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management
·         Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management
·         Professional qualification and membership to a professional body where applicable

Principal ICT Officer

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Principal ICT officer reports to the ICT Manager and is responsible for promoting the use of ICT in delivery of services towards realization of the Corporation’s mandate.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
Business Support
·         Researching, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance Corporation’s ICT infrastructure;
·         Developing and coordinating network security measures to ensure the integration of the ICT infrastructure;
·         Researching, planning, implementing and coordinating network infrastructure replacements and upgrades;
·         Coordinating the maintenance of Corporate-wide messaging system, Intranet and Extranet sites for the Corporation (Emails, Websites, Digital Signage, Telecoms);
·         Manage outsourced 3rd Party ICT service providers and ensuring that service delivery is done according to the laid down Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
·         Participating in developing of ICT standard operating procedures;
·         Coordinating development technical specifications for all ICT related purchases;
·         Carrying out periodical modifications on the ICT systems as required and ensure adherence to established ICT standards;
·         Coordinating the identification of procurement needs for the department;
·         Coordinating the preparation of departmental periodic progress reports; and
·         Coordinating the departmental enterprise risk management (ERM) and business continuity management (BCM);
Conference Support
·         Researching, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance Corporation’s Conferencing infrastructure;
·         Developing and coordinating the safekeeping of conferencing equipment devising measures to ensure the optimal utilization of the conferencing infrastructure;
·         Researching, planning, implementing and coordinating conferencing infrastructure replacements and upgrades;
·         Coordinating the maintenance of audio-visual, conferencing and public address systems of the corporation;
·         Managing outsourced 3rd party ICT conference service providers, ensuring that service delivery is done according to the laid down Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
·         Participating in developing of ICT conference support standard operating procedures;
·         Coordinating the development of technical specifications for all ICT conferencing equipment and other related services;
·         Carry out periodical modifications on the ICT systems as required and ensure adherence to established ICT standards;
·         Coordinating the identification of procurement needs for the department;
·         Coordinating the preparation of departmental periodic progress reports; and
·         Coordinating the departmental enterprise risk management (ERM) and business continuity management (BCM);
Requirements
·         Have six (6) years relevant ICT related work experience, three (3) of which should have been at supervisory level
·         Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Computer Science/Information Technology/Business Information Technology, Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
·         Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Computer Science/Information Technology or any other ICT or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Certification in any of the following CCNA, MCSE/MCTS/MCITP/ ITIL/CCNP/SQL;
·         Have some working knowledge of programming;
·         Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Principal Internal Auditor

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following post:-
The Principal Internal Auditor reports to the Audit Manager and is responsible for providing assurance on the Corporation’s internal control systems, risk management framework and the governance structure as per the Public Financial Management, (PFM) Act.
Responsibilities
·         Developing a comprehensive programme of engagement coverage for assigned areas;
·         Ensuring conformity to acceptable standards, plans, budgets and schedules;
·         Coordinate the preparation of specific audit assignment plans and programmes;
·         Preparation of the Internal Audit systems, procedures and guidelines;
·         Carrying out audit tests on internal controls in all processes;
·         Ensuring that the audit findings are properly documented;
·         Preparing draft audit reports detailing audit findings;
·         Leading specific audit teams; and
·         Reviewing work programmes to ensure that audits are planned and well managed;
·         Carry out periodic self-assessment as per the Quality Assurance Improvement Programme(QAIP)
·         To compile a follow up report detailing the recommendations for improvement for internal audit activity in line with quality Assurance improvement programme(QAIP).
Requirements
·         Have a minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at a supervisory level;
·         Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Be in possession of any of the following: – CPA (K), CISA, CFE, CIA,Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or its equivalent and either;
·         Be a member of any of the following professional bodies- Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors of Kenya (IIA-Kenya), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE);
·         Internal Audit Quality Assessors Certification
·         Have a certificate in management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
·         Be proficient in Computer applications;

Terms of Offer
The successful candidate’s appointment will be as follows:-
Job Grade KICC2 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable once subject to performance
Job Grade KICC 3 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable subject to performance.
Job Grade KICC 4, Job Grade KICC 5, Job Grade KICC 6 and Job Grade KICC 7 shall be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms
