Trans-Nzoia

Responsibilities

activities/programmes;

co-operative societies; and

Requirements
·
Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following disciplines; – Commerce, Agriculture, Economics(upper 2nd ),
Agriculture Economics, Agri-business, Co-operative management, Law or Finance
from a recognized institution; and
·
Certificate in Computer applications
from a recognized institution
OR
·
Served in the grade of co-operative
officer II for a minimum of three (3) years
·
Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following disciplines;- Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture,
Economics, Sociology, Law, Sociology, Agricultural Economics, Co-operative
Management, Marketing, entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational
Development, Finance or Agri-business from a recognized institution;
·
Certificate in Computer applications
from a recognized institution

Principal Co-Operative Officer

Salary Scale: Ksh. 51,660 x 2,570
– 54,230 x 2,740 – 56,970 x 2,890 – 59,860 x 3,220 – 63,080 x 3,370 – 66,450 x
3,540 – 69,990 p.m.
An officer at this level may be
deployed as a subject matter specialist in any of these areas;- education and
training, marketing, finance, savings and credit, projects, accounts,
governance or statistics.
Responsibilities
·
Promoting cooperative societies;
·
Advising on co-operative investment;
·
Overseeing co-operative elections;
·
Analyzing data for policy
formulation;
·
Developing and monitoring work plans
for co-operative extension services;
·
Overseeing co-operative activities in
several co-operative societies;
·
Evaluating co-operative activities
and trends for promoting the co-operative movement;
·
Enforcing compliance with
co-operative legislation.
Requirements
·
Must have served in the grade of
Chief co-operative officer for a minimum of three (3) years
·
Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following disciplines;- Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture,
Economics, Sociology ,Law, Agricultural Economics, Cooperative Management,
Marketing, entrepreneurship,
·
Management and Organizational
Development, Finance or Agri-business from a recognized institution;
·
Certificate in senior management
course lasting not less than four(4) weeks from a recognized institution,
·
Certificate in Computer applications
from a recognized institution
·
Demonstrated merit and ability as

Duties and responsibilities at this
level will entail:- examining all books os accounts of cooperative societies in
accordance with the law, rules and regulations;

observations;
Verifying statement of accounts and reporting the findings to immediate supervisors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following disciplines :- Commerce( Accounting/Finance Option),Economics (Upper
2nd),Mathematics, or statistics or Cooperative management from a recognized
institution;
OR
·
Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
Kenya Part III or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) Part IV from a recognized
institution; and
·
Certificate in computer applications
from a recognized institution.
Promotion
For promotion to this grade, officer
must have:-
·
Served in the grade of co-operative
Auditor II or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for
minimum period of three(3) years.
·
Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following disciplines;- Commerce( Accounting/Finance Option),Economics,
Business Administration or Cooperative management from a recognized
institution;
OR
·
A Diploma in any of the following
disciplines:-Cooperative Management, Cooperative Auditing, Internal Auditing or
Finance from a recognized institution;
OR
·
Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
Kenya Part II or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) Part III examination from a
recognized institution; and
·
Certificate in Computer applications
from a recognized institution.
