Responsibilities

Planning, monitoring, and assessment:
(a) Plan, monitor, and assess the section’s work, including outsourced work, in
the context of the division’s project commitments to UN Environment’s Programme
of Work and its Medium Term Strategy; (b) Management and oversight:

Manage and oversee the section’s
work, including the procurement of goods and services, and its human and other
resources, in accordance with the organisation’s policies, procedures, rules,
and regulations;
·
Strategy and innovation: Provide
overall strategic direction to the work of the section, with appropriate
strategic framing for the requirements of the section’s clients, underpinned by
a sustained innovation strategy that delivers the mandate of the section at the
cutting edge of associated industry practices, techniques, technologies, and
approaches;
·
Executive editor, publisher, and
producer: Under the Director’s delegated authority, fulfill the functions of
executive editor, publisher, and producer, accountable for the cost and quality
control of the organisation’s relevant communication collaterals;
·
Resource mobilization: Mobilize and
manage resources for the section and for the division;
·
Reporting and communication: Ensure
timely and comprehensive reporting and documentation as per client, division,
corporate, and donor requirements;
·
Resource scheduling: Establish and
maintain effective and efficient resource scheduling and workflow management
systems and processes for the section;
·
Content and traffic coordination:
Coordinate the section’s throughput, optimizing the systems and processes
required to absorb client and project inputs and deliver client and project
outputs, including sound relationship management.

Perform any other relevant duties.
Requirements
·
Advanced university degree (Master’s
degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, communication or
organizational management, marketing, advertising, computer or information
systems or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with
two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the
advanced university degree.
·
A minimum of ten years of
progressively responsible experience in communication, media production,
publishing, business administration or related field is required. Experience in
editorial management is desirable.
·
English and French are the working
languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in oral
and written English is required. Knowledge of any other language is an added
advantage.

Responsibilities

Deputy Spokesperson: serve as the
Deputy Spokesperson for UN Environment upon task delegation by the
Spokesperson;

Writing and editing: provide
high-level writing and editing support in the context of the section’s work on
a needs basis;
·
Risk management: manage risks
associated with the organization’s news media, web, and social and hybrid media
work;
·
UN Environment Live and Access to
Information Focal Point: serve as the division’s focal point for UN Environment
Live and for the Access to Information policy.

Requirements
·
Advanced university degree (Master’s
degree or equivalent) in mass communication, media, journalism or related area
is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional
years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced
university degree
·
A minimum of ten (10) years of
progressively responsible experience in communication including seven years’
experience leading (strategy, management) complex digital communication
operations comprising of a full digital newsroom, web platforms, social media
channels, hybrid marketing and resource mobilization strategies. Experience
working with an international and/or development agency is an advantage.

Intelligence Officer will be responsible to effectively manage and lead the
Supply Chain monitoring and reporting. The incumbent provides advice to the
Chiefs of Unit/Section within UNSOS on matter related to end-to-end Supply
Chain performance management.

Within delegated authority, the
Supply Chain Business Intelligence Officer will be responsible for the
following duties:

Provide expert advice to the Chiefs
of Unit/Section within UNSOS and other stakeholders on all issues related to
the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end Supply Chain in the mission.

Oversee the Supply Chain business
performance in the mission.
·
Lead the monitoring of the overall
Supply Chain performance in the mission.

Coordinate, monitor, evaluate the
mission-specific action plans on Supply Chain performance management for providing
360-degree visibility over the end-to-end supply chain processes.

Lead the performance reporting based
on SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) metrics and mission specific Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the mission.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems modules and other relevant systems

Requirements

Certifications in Project Management

Responsibilities
Under the day-to-day supervision of
the Head, UNEP Live, Technology and Innovation Unit, and the overall guidance
of the Chief, Country Outreach, Technology and Innovation Branch (COTI), the
incumbent will function to deliver scientific environmental data and indicators
to support both environmental assessments and reporting at national, regional
and global levels, and early warning of emerging environmental issues and
trends.Manage all aspects of assigned projects related to implementing network
services for environmental data, information and indicators based on
gee-referenced, spatial and statistical data.

Assist the Senior Programme Officer
and the Chief of the COTI Branch to prepare project funding proposals,
programme budget submissions, progress reports, financial statements,

Participate in project preparation,

Establish and conduct technical

Review relevant documents and reports
in early warning of environmental emerging issues, environmental
data/information and indicators and provide sound substantive inputs; research,
analyze and present information gathered from diverse scientific and technical
sources; organize and draft background papers, provide substantive inputs to
publications, etc., in a clear and professional manner.
·
Supervise staff delivery of spatial
data analysis and presentation of products and services, ensuring the on-line availability
of Programme – relevant spatial data-sets and databases as components of the
“One UN Environment Data and Indicators Platform”.
Requirements
·
Advanced university degree (Master’s
or equivalent) in physical or natural sciences, information technology or
related areas. A first-level university degree with relevant combination of
academic and professional qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the
Advanced degree.
·
Minimum of seven (7) years of working
experience in environmental data and information management (including
spatial), project or programme formulation, management and implementation,
reporting, assessments and early warning at national/regional levels – of which
at least three years are at the international level is required.
·
Knowledge of environmental issues and
technical networking acquired through work with expert institutions and
organisations is desirable. Track record or working in multicultural
