Responsibilities

Head of Agriculture
Reports to: Managing Director
Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for production and supply of good quality milling cane to the factory, supply of good quality seed cane in the zone, coordinate service delivery with machinery both in the factory and in the field and oversee the maintenance of sugar roads.
Responsibilities
·         Provide leadership in the department.
·         Supervise Cane Development Credit and authorize regular payment of cane proceeds to farmers.
·         Oversee implementation of the department’s aspects of service charter.
·         Plan, monitor and evaluate the performance of staff against set targets and objectives and implement development action plans aimed at capacity building of individuals and multidisciplinary teams.
Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
·         Co-ordinate all activities of sugarcane production to efficiently achieve set targets.
·         Co-ordinate timely harvesting and delivery of mature and quality cane to the factory from out grower farms and Nucleus Estate.
·         Co-ordinate the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system within the Nucleus Estate and extension to out growers.
·         Oversee the handling and disposal of factory solid wastes.
·         Facilitate optimization of Company machinery availability.
·         Facilitate land survey services.

Head of Human Resource
Reports to: Managing Director
Job Purpose
The job holder manages the Human Resource department and implements Human Resource policies and procedures to ensure the organization is resourced with professional, competent and motivated workforce to deliver its strategic objectives.
This position also offers advisory services to management on HR matters and deal with all staff matters including recruitment & selection, placement, retention, training and development, discipline, administration of staff welfare and separation.
Responsibilities
·         Review and recommend for approval updated human resource policies and procedures in compliance with the applicable legislative framework and best practice;
·         Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure that the Corporation is adequately resourced with the right caliber of staff;
·         Supervise the monthly processing of the organizations payroll and ensure timely remittance of related statutory deductions in line with approved budgets;
·         Supervise the administration of retirement Benefits Scheme and act as the Secretary to the Board of Trustees in line with the RBA regulations and the Trust Deed;

Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for coordinating and managing the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical/ instruments systems within and outside the factory and ensures safe generation, distribution utilization and control of electrical power.

Responsible for the planning, programming and ensuring optimum availability of mechanical plant and machinery for efficient cane offloading and milling to achieve targeted cane through put and parameters for maximum sugar production.

Job Purpose
Responsible for operations and management of instruments section for safe operations through provision of accurate instrumentation and sound maintenance of all instruments/equipment.
Responsibilities

·         Lead the department by budgeting, planning and directing resources to achieve targets and objectives.
·         Supervise the development, implementation and management of finance policies.
·         Oversee staff development.
·         Ensure performance measures are designed to evaluate performance against the strategic plan;
·         Play a senior leadership role in bringing the internal community along to support the outputs delivered by developing effective and strategic relationships
·         Build a highly effective team, by leading, managing and motivating staff and by directing and coaching them where appropriate, so that they achieve excellence in delivery.
Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
·         Developing and executing an ICT Strategy and related ICT standards in support of and to enable the overall Company strategy.
·         Participates in formulation, interpretation and execution of ICT policy.
·         Plans, analyses, evaluate ICT requirements and ensure security and integrity of data, software and hardware.
·         Develops guidelines for system development, enhancements, user requirements, testing platforms criteria and bench marks for the entire organization.
·         Provides and continually test Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Planning.
·         Prepares and manages ICT operating and capital budgets.
·         Executes and controls ICT procurement, support and maintenance.
·         Manages and updates Company’s website.
·         Ensures maintenance of optimal performance of all business systems and equipment through in house support or properly negotiated service level agreement with vendors.
·         Develops and monitors technical specifications for procurement and contractual services for ICT related goods and services.
·         Aligning ICT objectives and programs/projects to enterprise–wide objectives and strategies.
·         Ensures provision of user support, coordination and facilitation of ICT training.
·         Co-ordinates the implementation of standard procedures.
Financial Responsibility:
·         Responsible for preparation, implementation and monitoring of the departmental budget.
·         Responsible for physical assets assigned by the institution. b) Provides oversight for all departmental physical assets.
Requirements
·         Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science or a related field.
·         Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies.
·         Proper understanding and usage of ERP.
·         At least 5 years’ experience and 3 years in a managerial position.

Other Requirements:
·         A Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
·         A Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Boards (HELB).
·         A Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
·         A Clearance Certificate by the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
·         Clearance from the Ethics & and Ant-Corruption Commission (EACC).
