Our
client in the hospital industry based in Kisii is looking to recruit a surgical
nursing team leader who will be responsible for provision of high quality
surgical nursing care within the section in line with Hospital policies,
processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
·
Oversee the daily workflow, staffing,
orientation, training and developing of employees within the department
·
Responsible for the ongoing
quality/performance improvement processes related to patient care
·
Facilitates committee meetings,
Med/Surg staff meetings and participates on other committees, task forces as
assigned
·
Display passion and optimism; inspire
respect and trust; and provide vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates
·
Required to work as a staff nurse, as
needed, to ensure staffing coverage of department
·
Follow through on commitments;
accepts responsibility for personal actions; and adapt to change
·
Promote and support a collaborative
team approach in providing care for all patients
·
Act as a liaison for the unit(s) and
provides physicians, families, and ancillary departments with direction and/or
assistance as needed
·
Support and interpret policies,
procedures, philosophy and objectives of the hospital
·
Facilitates staff analysis and
improvement plans for Med/Surg employee satisfaction workgroup
·
Monitors customer satisfaction scores
and implements plans to improve them
·
Monitor patient volumes, quality of
care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement
·
Develops and administers a budget;
leads cost efficient and effective operations, creates plan of correction for
any operating expenses that deviate
·
Use problem-solving and conflict
resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
required or must be enrolled in a program to be completed within one year
·
Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification
·
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
certification
·
Pediatric Advanced Life Support
(PALS) certification
·
Must be a Registered Nurse
·
Two to three years of management
and/or supervisory experience preferred
·
Medical/Surgical or Critical Care
experience in a similar size hospital preferred

Patient Care Officer
Salary: Ksh. 20,000

Responsibilities

Orients and educates patients and
their families by meeting them; explaining the role of the patient care
coordinator.
·
Develops interdisciplinary care plan
and other case management tools by participating in meetings.
·
Providing education to others
regarding the case management process.
·
Monitors delivery of care by
completing patient rounds; documenting care; identifying progress toward
desired care outcomes.
·
Evaluates outcomes of care with the
interdisciplinary team by measuring intervention effectiveness with the team;
implementing team recommendations.
·
Complies with hospital and legal
requirements by fostering nursing practices that adhere to the hospitals’ and
nursing division’s philosophy, goals, and standards of care.
·
Protects self, co-workers, and
patients by following policies and procedures to prevent the spread of blood
borne and/or airborne diseases.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate clinical practice
competence in nursing management of critically ill patients and those
undergoing hemodialysis
·
Assessing a patient’s condition and
planning and implementing patient care plans
·
Treating wounds and providing
advanced life support
·
Assisting physicians in performing
procedures
·
Observing and recording patient vital
signs
·
Ensuring that ventilators, monitors
and other types of medical equipment function properly
·
Administering intravenous fluids and
medications
·
Ordering diagnostic tests
·
Collaborating with fellow members of
the critical care team
·
Responding to life-saving situations,
using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
·
Acting as patient advocate
·
Providing education and support to

Care for pre- and post-operative
