Driver II

Responsibilities

The Driver I is responsible to the Senior Administration Officer for:-
·         Carrying out minor mechanical repairs;

·         Recognizing and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicles;
·         Ensuring security of the vehicles on and off the road;
·         Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods in the vehicle;
·         Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle assigned to him; and
·         Ensuring possession of all the requisite documents and tools for any specific journey.

Requirements

For appointment to the grade of Driver II, a person must have:-
·         Served in the grade of Driver Grade III for at least three (3) years;
·         The Occupational Trade Test II Certificate for Drivers;
·         A valid driving licence free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
·         Must be of good conduct, smart, courteous and respectful;
·         Demonstrated professional competence in driving the class of the vehicle he/she is licensed to drive;
·         A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution;
·         A Certificate of Good Conduct (renewable after two (2) years);
·         A First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution; and
·         A refresher course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week every three (3) years

Anti-Counterfeit Inspectors (II)

The Anti-Counterfeit Agency was established under the Anti-Counterfeit Act 2008 as a State Corporation with the mandates to enlighten and inform the public on matters relating to counterfeiting, combat counterfeiting, trade and other dealings in counterfeit goods, devise and promote training programs to combat counterfeiting and co-ordinate with national, regional or international organizations involved in combating counterfeiting.

Responsibilities

An Anti-Counterfeit Inspector II will perform a variety of Enforcement duties of limited scope and complexity under appropriate guidance and supervision of Anti-Counterfeit Inspector I.
The Anti-Counterfeit Inspector II is responsible to Anti-Counterfeit Inspector I for:-
·         drafting charge sheets and filing cases in courts;
·         ensuring safe custody of exhibits;
·         investigating complaints from intellectual property rights owners;
·         ensuring that witnesses attend court through witness summons;
·         assisting in conducting prosecution of cases;
·         taking part in compiling court files/cases;
·         conducting raids on suspected counterfeit goods;
·         entering, inspecting, seizing and detaining suspected counterfeit goods;
·         carrying out follow ups on cases of complaints on counterfeit goods;
·         sampling goods for testing and analysis;
·         compiling reports on suspected counterfeit goods;
·         entering goods into the inventory and transferring them into the counterfeit goods depot;
·         perform any other duty as may be assigned

Requirements

For appointment to the grade of Anti-Counterfeit Inspector II, a person must have:-
·         a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology or related disciplines from a recognized institution;
·         at least two (2) years working experience in litigation, criminology or law enforcement; and
·         demonstrated administrative and professional competence in work performance
·         Professional membership in the related fields above will be an added advantage

Manager Legal Services

Responsibilities

The Manager Legal Services is responsible to the Deputy Director Enforcement, Legal Services for:-
·         supervising, managing and administering legal matters in the Agency;
·         formulating, implementing and evaluating policies on research, enforcement and legal matters;
·         developing strategies for stakeholder consultations and engagements;
·         taking legal action where necessary to protect the interests of the Agency in pursuance of its mandate;
·         liaising with external law firms on litigation involving the Agency either in pursuance of its mandate or other claims;
·         providing legal counsel on legal and legislative issues impacting on the Agency;
·         providing legal support and services to the programmes in which the Agency will be involved and advising the Agency on legal issues;
·         preparing budget estimates, work plan and procurement plans for the Division;
·         being responsible for the implementation and realization of the Division’s strategic plans and objectives;
·         review of files and drafting of legal opinions;
·         implementing performance appraisal systems in the Division; and
·         performing any other duty as may be assigned by the Executive Director

Requirements

For appointment to the position of Manager, Legal Services, a person must have:-
·         Masters degree in Law or Business Management/Administration;
·         Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution;
·         Must be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya
·         Certificate of good standing from Law Society of Kenya
·         Must hold a current practicing certificate or appropriate exemptions,
·         Must have clearance certificate from Advocates Complaints Commission

·         At least ten (10) years working experience, five (5) of which must have been at a managerial level in litigation;
·         Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance;
·         Attended a strategic leadership course not lasting less than four (4) weeks.

Requirements

Manager Internal Audit

Responsibilities

The Manager, Internal Audit is responsible to the Executive Director and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and will be:-
·         developing and managing an integrated internal audit function covering all the areas of the operations.
·         reviewing and appraising the soundness and efficiency of all systems of controls including financial, operational and internal control systems and procedures.
·         preparing the annual audit programme and ensuring that it is effectively carried out.
·         periodically reviewing the suitability, reliability and use of management information produced within the organization.
·         evaluating of business risks and systems of controls to provide value added recommendations.
·         analyzing outcomes of audit activities provide timely reports and follow through to ensure that recommendations are considered and implemented.
·         providing leadership in the co-ordination of external audits and ensuring that issues raised by the auditors are addressed.
·         carrying out special audits and investigations (ad-hoc) as may be required from time to time and submit report of findings to the Board.
·         monitoring the efficiency of the operations of the organization, identify areas that offer opportunities for improvement and make appropriate recommendations.
·         performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Board / management from time to time.

Requirements

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
·         Masters degree in Business Administration or related disciplines;
·         Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, or related disciplines;
·         Obtained Certified Public Accountants CPA (K) Part III or its equivalent from a recognized Institution ;
·         At least ten (10) years working experience, five (5) of which must have been at a managerial level in Auditing;
·         Attended a strategic leadership course not lasting less than four (4) weeks; and
·         Must be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
