We are currently seeking a highly
motivated individual in the following area:
Communications Manager / Technical Writer
Location: Mombasa
The Communications Manager /
Technical Writer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Pathfinder
International Kenya internal and external communications.
Key Accountabilities:
·
Develop, produce, disseminate and
distribute Afya Pwani and Pathfinder International- Kenya communication
materials in clear and accessible manner for a range of technical and
non-technical audiences.
·
Serve as the point of contact with
USAID Kenya on media and public relations matters as well as the in-house
expert on branding, marking, and positioning of Afya Pwani communications materials
and deliverables.
·
Providing advice to the Chief of
Party, other staff members, grantees and Afya Pwani, partners on media
engagement, deliverables, outreach, communications and public relations issues.
·
Work with Program, Finance and
Administrative teams to ensure timely submission of high quality quarterly,
semi-annual, annual and end of program reports to donors and HQ.
·
Coordinate and manage updates to
program documents; work closely with Program Technical and Research and Metrics
Unit (RMU) staff to revise content and edit, for clarity, readability,
consistency and grammar.
·
Ad hoc support to all of Kenya’s
Pathfinder offices and the Pathfinder Uganda office specifically copy editing
of quarterly / annual reports as well as other technical and information
education communication materials produced by these offices.
·
Provide technical writing support,
strategic input as well as help facilitate partner meetings and design
workshops for funding proposals and new business development.
·
Liaise with HQ staff, field teams and
prospective partners to coordinate technical input for funding proposals.
The successful candidate should
possess a Master’s Degree in Knowledge Management and/or a development area or
a Master’s Degree in any Social Science disciplines from a recognized
university.
He/She must have at least 5 years’
professional communications experience as a writer/editor preferably in
Reproductive Health, International Health and/or HIV/AIDS.
The candidate should demonstrate
excellent interpersonal skills, high level of conceptual and strategic thinking
as well as writing and editing skills.
Senior MNCH Technical Advisor
Location: Kilifi
The
Senior Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Technical Advisor will provide
strategic direction and overall technical leadership for MNCH / Family Planning
(FP) related activities.
Key Accountabilities:
·
Oversee the implementation of
activities and interventions from a technical perspective and adjust to
strategies based on lessons learnt from early implementation and other field
experiences.
·
Provide direct Technical Assistance
(TA) and support to program counterparts as well as health facilities in the
areas of expertise including MNCH, FP/Reproductive Health (RH) and Malaria.
·
Management and human capacity development
in performance and Quality Improvement (QI).
·
Design, implementation and monitoring
of all MNCH/FP activities.
·
Lead activities related to
identification of MNCH/FP service delivery barriers and initiate innovative
approaches to address them.
·
Support program monitoring of
technical quality MNCH/FP activities.
·
Model a proactive and problem-solving
attitude which encourages teamwork as well as fosters high motivation and
enthusiasm amongst colleagues.
·
Use knowledge of best practices in
MNCH, FP/RH and Malaria to direct strategic planning, implementation and
evaluation.
·
Provide support to operationalize
health policies, ensure client responsive services as well as optimal use of
government and donor resources.
The
successful candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Obstetrics and
Gynecology; a Master’s Degree in Public Health will be an added advantage.
He/She
must have at least 8 years’ experience in providing hands-on Technical
Assistance in MNCH/RH/FP leadership to various teams.
Familiarity
with the political, social, economic and cultural context of working in Kilifi
County is required.
MNCH Manager
Location: Kilifi
The
Maternal, Newborn and Child Health(MNCH) Manager will work closely with the
MNCH/Family Planning(FP) team under the guidance of the Senior MNCH/FP Advisor
to provide support to MNCH/FP related activities in Kilifi County.
Key Accountabilities:
·
Support and contribute to the design,
implementation and monitoring of all MNCH, Reproductive Health (RH)/FP
activities.
·
In collaboration with the MNCH/FP
team, identify barriers to MNCH, RH/FP uptake of services and develop
innovative approaches/strategies to addressing the barriers.
·
Support provision of quality of MNCH,
RH/FP services.
·
Mentor and provide support
supervision to health care providers providing MNCH/FP services in Afya Pwani
supported facilities.
·
Prepare technical documentation and
reports related to: project MNCH, RH/FP activities as well as results for
donors, government stakeholders and partner organizations.
·
Apply best practices in MNCH, RH/FP
activities to guide strategic planning and implementation.
·
Design innovative ways of working
with young adolescent mothers to promote uptake of quality MNCH RH/FP services.
·
Provide direct Technical Assistance
(TA) and support to program counterparts and health facilities, in the areas of
expertise including MNCH, RH/FP.
·
Support On-the-Job Trainings (OJTs)
and Continuing Medical Education (CME) in MNCH, RH/FP to Afya Pwani supported
facilities.
The
successful candidate should have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with a
proven progressive working experience over the years.
A
Masters’ Degree will be an added advantage.
He/She
must have at least 7 years’ hands-on experience in RH, FP and HIV/AIDS fields.
Familiarity
with the political, social, economic and cultural context of working in Kilifi
County is required.
Administrative Assistant – Finance & Administration
Location: Mombasa
The
Administrative Assistant shall be reporting to the Senior Finance Director and
will provide administrative support to the Senior Finance Director& Finance
team on different project activities.
The
role involves performing daily routine tasks on finance and procurement as key
areas.
Key Accountabilities:
·
Manage the Senior Director of Finance
& Administration’s diary, correspondence, travel and accommodation and
booking flights as well as relevant documentation (TAF/TEV) for staff.
·
Provide administrative services to
all programs, finance and administration for various project teams in addition
to providing rapporteur services for departmental and other meetings.
·
Develop and manage an efficient and
effective filing and documentation system for the office of the Director of
Finance and Administration.
·
Receive and coordinate functions for
finance & administration and HR departments procurement needs including
raising requisitions in Serenic and follow up to ensure timely delivery of
goods/services in addition to backstopping for the Procurement team.
·
Track admin budgets, invoices, attach
them to the paperwork – LPO and forward for processing.
·
Provide effective support to the
Country Procurement team by taking Minutes and keep records as well as perform
any other duties as may be assigned.
The
successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
or an equivalent from a recognized University.
He/She
must have at least 5 years’ administrative support experience in a similar role
preferably in NGOs.
The
candidate should be detail-oriented, willing to learn in a fast-paced office
environment.
Prior
working experience in procurement and finance will be an added advantage.
