Vacancy No. TVETA/22/JUN. 2018 Number of Posts: One (1)
Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 81,000 – 108,000 pm
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Human Capital and Administration, the
Records Management Officer I will be responsible for the following:

Ensuring security of files and documents in the registry
·
Developing a records storage plan, which includes the short and
long-term housing of physical records and digital information
·
Maintaining a comprehensive file classification scheme and indices
for TVETA records
·
Controlling access to records internally and outside of the
organization while ensuring confidentiality of information
·
Developing and implementing policies and practices regarding
records including their organization and disposal
·
Providing direction and supervision of dispatch services in so far
as the movement of mail, files and related documents are concerned
·
Advising on the appropriate records management systems as well as
creation, maintenance and use of electronic records
·
Supervising, developing and providing guidance to staff in the
records unit.
Requirements
For appointment to this grade, one must have: –
·
Served for a minimum period of six (6) years as a Records
Management Officer in the public service/private sector or in an equivalent and
relevant position;
·
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/Records Management from
a recognized Institution OR
·
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences and a diploma in
Records/Information Management, Library /Information Science or equivalent
qualifications from a recognized institution
·
Attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
from a recognized institution;
·
Certificate in computer applications from a recognized
institution.
·
Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and
administrative capability required for effective performance of duties at this
level;
