Recruitment of County Service Men and Service Women in the County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme

Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the County Governments Acts No. 17 of 2012. the County Government of Kakamega invites applicants from suitably qualified persons to fill the above positions.

The County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme will offer the youth and women an opportunity to engage in economically viable ventures that will include road maintenance and environmental sanitation and hygiene that will involve cleaning of the environment, Agribusiness and provision of general security for County Government assets.

Principal Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme, the service men/women will have the following responsibilities:

·         Road Construction

·         Road Maintenance

·         Bush clearing

·         Maintenance of drainage systems

·         Office cleaning and support services

·         Cleaning of Market centres

·         Guarding County Government property

·         Reporting security incidences! breaches

·         Enforcement of County Government laws

Entry Requirements

All candidates will be expected to satisfy the following minimum requirements

1.   KCPE Certificate upto D Plain in KCSE

2.   Age 18—35 years (youth) and 35—55 years (women)

3.   Be of sound Medical condition

4.   Ability to undertake physical activities

5.   Pass the aptitude test

6.   No previous criminal conviction or record

7.   Must be a resident of Kakamega County and the respective Ward

8.   Successful candidates will have to undergo paramilitary training

9.   Applicants must have copies of national ID card, or valid passport and certificate of good conduct

10.          All successful candidates for the interview will be required to carry their original documents.

NOTE: All interested candidates should pick and fill application forms from their respective ward administrator’s office and return them to the ward administrator’s office on/or before 27th June, 2018.
