Compliance Officers

Kenya Dairy Board is a State Corporation established in 1958, under the Dairy Industry Act Cap. 336 Laws of Kenya.
The Board is charged with the responsibility to provide for improvement and control of the dairy industry and its products and to ensure the adoption of measures and practices designed to promote greatest efficiency in the dairy industry.
The main role for this position is the enforcement of Dairy Industry Act cap 336 and ensuring compliance to quality and safety standards for milk and milk products.

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will entail:
·         Enforcing the Dairy Industry Act;
·         Inspecting and recommending licensing of dairy premises;
·         Surveillance, sampling and testing of dairy produce;
·         Licensing of dairy mangers;
·         Providing Advisory services to stakeholders;
·         Carrying out investigations and providing intelligent reports; and
·         Organizing regulatory and stakeholder forums to enhance compliance.

Qualifications

·         Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology, Public Health, Animal Science or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant relevant field, two of which must have been in a supervisory position;
·         Be proficient
Key Competencies:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities
·         Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures;
·         Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of production, processing, storage, and distribution of dairy produce;
·         Experience in producing reports, documents and related material;
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills;
·         Experience in dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism;
·         Excellent experience with researching methods, techniques, and/or sources of information and can conduct a methodical examination;
·         Understands principles, theories, and practices of food science;
·         Experience with applicable measurement and/or sampling methods and technologies;
·         Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of food safety and public health;
·         Intelligent and willing to keep learning;


Records Management Officer
Kenya Dairy Board is a State Corporation established in 1958, under the Dairy Industry Act Cap. 336 Laws of Kenya.
The Board is charged with the responsibility to provide for improvement and control of the dairy industry and its products and to ensure the adoption of measures and practices designed to promote greatest efficiency in the dairy industry.
JOB GRADE KDB 6 (1 Post)
The main role for this position is to assist in organising, maintenance and protection of Board’s information databases in both soft and hard form, and ensuring information needed is retrievable, authentic and accurate.

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will entail:
·         Receiving, recording and dispatching all correspondences appropriately;
·         Ensuring that letters and other documents are appropriately filed and marked to action officers;
·         Up-Dating and maintaining up-to-date file movement records;
·         Controlling, opening of files, renewing file covers and updating file index;
·         Ascertaining the general cleanliness of the registry;
·         Proper handling of documents, pending correspondence and bring-ups
·         Initiating appraisal and disposal of files/documents in liaison with National Archives and Documentation Services;
·         Ensuring security of information, documents, files and office equipment; and
·         Mentoring staff.

Qualifications

·         Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Information Science Management, Archives and Records Management or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
·         Minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant field two of which must have been in a supervisory level;
·         Be proficient in computer applications;
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Key Competencies:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities
·         Knowledge of office procedures including record management systems;
·         Understanding of Information Systems Security Management (ISO 27001 ISMS) will be an added advantage;
·         Ability to write and communicate effectively;
·         Ability to acquire and retain knowledge; and

Senior Assistant Compliance Officers

·         Be proficient in computer applications; and
·         Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

The main role for this position is provision of clerical and administrative support to assigned office and customer care.

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will entail:
·         Maintaining office diary and protocol management;
·         Recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing it in typewritten form typing from drafts; manuscripts or recording from dictation machines;
·         Processing data;
·         Operating office equipment;
·         Ensuring good office layout;
·         Attending to visitors/clients;
·         Handling telephone calls;
·         Ensuring security of office records, equipment and documents, including classified materials;
·         Preparing responses to routine correspondence;
·         Planning and scheduling of meetings;
·         Management of e-office; and
·         Managing office petty cash.

Qualifications

·         Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or diploma in Business Office Management or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;

·         Strong knowledge in QuickBooks software will be added advantage;

Driver

The Board is charged with the responsibility to provide for improvement and control of the dairy industry and its products and to ensure the adoption of measures and practices designed to promote greatest efficiency in the dairy industry.
JOB GRADE KDB 10
The main role for this position is to assist the Board’s officers fulfill their tasks by providing safe driving and general administration and logistical work.

Duties

·         Driving a vehicle as authorized;
·         Carrying out checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure and other related routine checks;
·         Keeping safe custody and proper utilization of fuel cards;
·         Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
·         Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle, passengers and goods;
·         Maintaining work tickets for vehicles assigned;
·         Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle; and
·         Reporting of accidents and incidences related to the vehicle.

Specifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities
·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ or its equivalent;
·         Valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class BCE;
·         Occupational Trade Test III for Drivers;
·         Certificate in Defensive Driving from the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
·         Certificate in First-Aid Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
·         Certificate Refresher Course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week at Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
·         Be proficient in computer applications; and
·         Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
