Reporting to the Head – Mortgage
Finance, the role holder will be responsible for growing mortgage asset book by
offering the customer relationship managers support in identifying opportunities
and various avenues to boost mortgage business.
The role holder will also be required
to create solutions from existing ideas and help penetrate products with a view
to satisfy customer needs.
The Role
Specifically, the successful
jobholder will be required to:
·
Develop the core positioning and
measuring for mortgage product and review existing products in line with
emerging customer needs.
·
Establish and develop strategic
partnerships with various players in real estate industry value chain.
·
Monitor performance of mortgage
portfolio across the assigned business originating units as well as prepare
various product management reports for decision making.
·
Provide high level of service to
customers both internally and externally through prompt feedback within agreed
turnaround time and closure of issues related to mortgage product from the
business originating units.
·
Organize and participate in property
open days, expos, corporate scheme clinics, activations and branch visits
·
Train the sales force across the branch
network and offer technical support in appraisal of mortgage related
applications.
·
Support business originating units
achieve and exceed set mortgage portfolio growth and product profitability
targets.
·
Maintain professional and technical
knowledge by attending and contributing to training programmes, educational
workshops, corporate social responsibility events, team building and any other
duties as assigned.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will be
required to have the following skills and competencies:

A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or
any other business related field from a recognized University with at least
three years working experience as Mortgage
·
Sales Manager in a financial
institution.
·
Professional qualifications will be
an added advantage.
·
Proven knowledge in all mortgage
products and related business aspects is an added advantage.
·
Proactive, assertive and highly
adaptable to change with strong analytical skills and customer centric mindset.
·
Personal organization and
thoroughness coupled with the ability to work under minimum supervision with
good Judgment skills.

Acquisition of new corporate clients
and continuous monitoring and nurturing of the relationships to ensure that
clients are always satisfied with the Bank’s services and solutions.

Develop forecasts/quantify the
expected business from prospective clients based on comprehensively done and
updated account plans.

Develop and package winning value
propositions targeting major relationships with huge potentials for cheap
deposits, quality assets, and substantial Non -funded revenues.
·
Identify key contacts and key
business influencers’ within the clients’ business and foster a relationship to
ensure cutting edge information about the client’s business objectives,
opportunities and threats for proactive management.
·
Develop an intimate understanding of
the client’s industry and business; analyze their modus operandi, management
practices and market conditions affecting the long term sustainability and
viability of the business and sector.
·
Introduce specialist skills on
specific products and product mix at the appropriate time and level in order to
create solutions which effectively satisfy client needs.
·
Initiate and monitor customer/Bank
contact at all levels, ensuring that customers enjoy the highest standards of
service.
·
Proactively monitor markets and
pre-empt risks for both the Bank and the client with timely identification of
potential problem accounts and formulating appropriate risk mitigating
strategies
·
Keep abreast of developments in the
market; be aware of projects to be carried out by parastatals, government
ministries and developmental agencies and their various sources of funding with
a view to market for collection business from cash rich corporates with large
collections volumes.
Desired Skills
and Experience
The successful candidate will be
required to have the following skills and competencies:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business
related field: Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Finance,
Accounting, or any other relevant field from a recognized university.
·
A minimum 5 years’ experience as a
Relationship Manager managing large corporate clients.
·
Knowledge of various bank’s products
and services including those that are being developed.
·
Knowledgeable in Trade Finance
transactions and its associated processes with experience in corporate lending
especially to state owned institutions.
·
Experience in Corporate Mortgage and
project management and other industry-associated risks evaluation and
management.
·
Analytical and presentation skills
for pitching proposals and responses to request for proposals locations.

Skills,
Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will be
required to have the following skills and competencies:

A degree preferably in Business,
Finance or Commerce. CPA (K) or pursuing final stage qualification desired.
·
Experience – 3 years and above in
Accounting, financial and/or management reporting and Business Analysis with 2
years’ additional experience in business partnering is preferred
·
Experience in carrying out
quantitative & qualitative analytical performance reviews on revenue, cost
and bank products coupled with a strategic perspective and ability to apply
analytics
·
Good knowledge of the finance
policies, budgeting guidelines and cost management procedures as well as the
Banking Act
·
Strong communication skills coupled
with good negotiation, presentation, facilitation and influencing skills.
·
Grounded in strong analytical and
modelling capability to ensure support the wider business performance and
insight as required
·
High level of understanding of the
direct relationship between actuals, functional strategy and delivery to
targets.
·
General awareness of the current
business trends and practices and good understanding of the financial services
industry
·
Experience – 3 years and above in

Qualifications,
Skills & Attributes
The successful jobholder will be
required to possess the following qualifications: –

An IT related Bachelor’s degree or
Business related degree with relevant IT professional qualifications with good
project management, designing and testing background.
·
Must have 2-3 years serving as an
active Scrum Master in a software development organization.
·
Certified Scrum Master with relevant
practical experience as a Scrum Master or experience working in a Scrum
Framework is preferred.
·
Experienced with Lean/Agile
principles with knowledge of agile methodology and approaches like scrum,
Kanban, Extreme Programing (XP), Crystal, Feature Driven Development (FDD) etc.
·
Basic knowledge of software
development processes and procedures with an understanding of team needs, basic
fundamentals of iterative and incremental development as well as service
oriented environments and Agile practices.
