Ward Administrator (4 Posts)
The Kisii County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Sections 58 and 63 of the County Government Act, 2012.
J/G ‘N’

Responsibilities

The sub-county Administrator shall be responsible for:-

·         Coordinating, managing and supervising the general administration functions at the ward level.
·         Develop policies and plans at the ward level;
·         Ensuring effective service delivery at the ward level;
·         Initiate developmental activities to empower the citizenry at the sub-county;
·         Oversee the safety and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities of the Public Service;
·         Facilitating and coordinating citizen participation in the development of policies and delivery of services
·         Exercising any functions and powers delegated by the County Public Service Board

Requirements

·         Be a Kenyan citizen
·         Be a holder of at least a Diploma with 5 years’ experience in administration and management or
·         Be a holder of a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya with a working experience of not less than 2 years
·         Have qualifications and knowledge in administration and management


Sub-County Administrator 
The Kisii County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Sections 58 and 63 of the County Government Act, 2012.
J/G ‘Q’

Responsibilities

·         The sub-county Administrator shall be responsible for:-
·         Coordinating, managing and supervising of the general administrative functions in the sub-county level;
·         Develop policies and plans at the sub-county level;
·         Ensuring effective service delivery at the sub-county level;
·         Initiate developmental activities to empower the citizenry at the sub-county;
·         Oversee the safety and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities of the Public Service;
·         Facilitate and coordination of citizen participation in the development of policies and plan s and delivery of services;

Requirements 

·         Be a Kenyan Citizen.
·         Be a holder of at least a master’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
·         Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Devolution, the County development objectives and vision 2030.
·         Working experience of not less than 5 years.
·         Have qualifications and knowledge in administration or management.


County Structural Engineer
The Kisii County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Sections 58 and 63 of the County Government Act, 2012.
J/G ‘K’

Responsibilities

·         Planning and design or counterchecking structural engineering designs of buildings and other public works being implemented by the County Government prepared internally or externally consultants;

·         Preparing or supervision of preparation of all structural drawings and bar bending schedules for all structures being put up by the County Government;
·         Check structural drawings submitted alongside building plans by anybody planning to erect a building within the county;
·         Construction supervision/inspection and reporting all structural works to ensure standards are adhered to for safety and economy;
·         Preparation of structural engineering specifications;
·         Assessing existing buildings structural status for purposes of ascertaining safety of structures on ability to carry any preferred modifications and or extensions and advising the developer accordingly;
·         Supervising other staff under him/her in the department section;
·         Advising the project team on any structural changes necessary on plans/designs developed;
·         Performing of any other duties as assigned by the County works officer.

Requirements

·         Be a Kenyan Citizen;
·         Must have a Bachelor of Science/Engineering (BSc./ BEng.) degree in civil and structural engineering from a recognized university;
·         Must be a registered Professional Engineer by Engineers Board of Kenya with current practice licence;
·         Must be a cooperate member of Institution of Engineers Kenya (MIEK);
·         Must have not less than 6 years’ experience in similar operations;
·         Must have thorough knowledge on AutoCAD drafting operations;
·         Should have basic knowledge on Microsoft office operations;
·         Must have knowledge on use of latest structural design software’s;
·         Must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
·         Must be highly skilled person with an eye for details and quality;
·         A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage;


Mechanical Maintenace Technician (Rig Maintanance) 
The Kisii County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Sections 58 and 63 of the County Government Act, 2012.
J/G ‘H/J’
The holder of this position reports to the Drilling Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Maintenance of the rig and its auxiliary equipment;
·         Ensuring proper operating practices of the rig equipment and its auxiliary equipment.

Requirements and Competencies

·         Be a Kenyan citizen.
·         Diploma in Mechanical engineering.
·         A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
·         Microsoft office proficient.
·         Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
·         A minimum of 3 years’ experience in drilling.
NOTE: Applicants For The Above Positions Are Required To Get (Valid I.E. Year 2018) Clearance From The Underlisted Organizations To Meet Requirements Of Chapter Six Of The Constitution Of Kenya 2010.
·         Kenya Revenue Authority.

·         Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
·         Criminal Investigation Department.
·         Credit Reference Bureau.
·         Copies of these clearances MUST be attached to the applications.
