Job Purpose
The Civil Engineer is involved in engineering design, project
costing, tender documentation, tendering processes, project management, and
construction supervision as well as oversee maintenance of airport
infrastructure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares and designs airport civil engineering developments/
improvements in line with the Master Plan for review and approval.
·
Participates in preparation of the Engineering department budget
proposals to ensure that engineering works are planned
·
Prepares tender documentation for tendering
·
Liaises with Contractors, Consultants and stakeholders to ensure
efficient and effective performance of the project works with minimum
interference in airport operations
·
Undertakes projects supervision as per plan of works
·
Ensures quality assurance measures are followed for compliance
with set standards of the civil works.
·
Receives and evaluates project fee notes for approval.
·
Maintains records of the civil works project cycle at all stages
from inception to the end and ensures project close out in line with the
project agreement
·
Ensures post-contract period management/supervision services and
to ascertain that warrantees have been provided, and the completed facilities
meet operational targets/requirements.
·
Prepares proposals for use by different departments either in
budgeting, estimates or decision –making & prepares civil engineering
facilities status reports and action programmes to sustain / upgrade service
standards.
Qualifications

Relevant Bachelor’s degree
·
Membership to professional bodies such as Engineers Board of Kenya
(EBK) and membership of Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)

A Minimum of Eight (8) years of work experience with at least

Prepares improvement and maintenance plans for Electrical, Electronics
equipment and facilities to ensure continuous serviceability.

and facilities such as FIDS, Screening Machines , Airfield Lighting, CCTV,
Public Address etc. to ensure continuous serviceability
·
Prepares designs, tender specifications and bills of quantities
for maintenance works and capital projects.

Attends to airport stakeholders enquiries on electrical services
needs in line with the set standards.
·
Attends to emergencies by providing technical advice to ensure
timely response

Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for identifying and administering
non-aeronautical businesses in order to cater for the needs and wants of the
airport users and service providers with the overall goal of maximizing
non-aeronautical revenues for the Authority.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures all the retail and rental contracts are up-to date at all
times through timely renewal process.
·
Updates at all times the dual tenants and retail directories
·
Implements and monitors rental / retail concession contracts by
ensuring that they all generate the requisite revenue as per set contracts
through correct invoicing system.
·
Introduces new commercial retail ventures /services to enhance
services diversification in order to enrich customer service experience.
·
Ensures that services providers adhere or comply /stick to the
authorized commercial operations and Service Level Agreements including taxi
operations.
·
Assists in the Development of the annual retail concession plans
as well as service level agreements for JKIA and development of marketing
and business plans for JKIA
·
Develops and maintains good business relationships with
concessionaires and stakeholders.

Responds to commercial queries relating area of jurisdiction.

Job Purpose
The job holder in liaison with the Commercial Manager, Cargo implements
cargo business plans for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Wilson Airport,
Wajir International Airport , Eldoret International Airport, Moi International
Airport, Kisumu International Airport, Lokichoggio Airport and Malindi Airport
to achieve revenue targets and efficient cargo operations.

Responsibilities:

Implements cargo business plans for general freight, fresh
produce, Horticulture and Courier business to achieve set targets on revenue and
customer service.

Monitors and analyzes the operational performance of licensed
transit sheds to ensures optimal revenue and efficient operations

Reviews and develops courier operations to maximize on revenue and
customer service.
·
Undertakes review and standardizes the operations of the
specialized freight area to maximize on business opportunities.

administration of commercial terms.

Oversees and confirms implementation of ICAO standards as well as
regulations and guidelines from KCAA in the operations of all KAA airports and
airstrips

Reviews the capacity of the current airport facilities vis-Ã -vis
current and anticipated demands.
·
Makes recommendations for upgrading and/or enhancement of operational
facilities, passenger facilitation, ground and cargo services in order to
continuously provide exceptional seamless, safe and efficient service to
passengers and customers and enhance realization of revenue targets

With the various direct reports develops departmental budgets,
schedules expenditure, analyzes variances and takes corrective actions to
address variances
·
Leads the process and confirms that corrective and preventative
actions identified by audit, risk and compliance reviews; investigations or
other assessment mechanisms are undertaken within the agreed time frame.
