Job Title: Performance Based Contracting Expert / Road Engineer

Specific Responsibilities
·         Application and adoption of performance Based Contracting to Labour-intensive methods developed in SSA.
·         Responsible for transferring this technology to Kenya and help KeRRA update and extend the R2000 engineering options used to maintain and secure its rural road network assets.
Skills / Competencies
·         Must have at least 10- 15 Years Professional Experience
·         She/he Must be a member of a recognized engineers’ professional organization
·         At least 5 years’ experience in application and adoption of performance based contracting


Job Title: Resident Engineer

Location: Rwanda (2h from Kigali)
Education / Degree: BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Years of Experience: 10-15 Years

Skills / Competencies
·         BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
·         At least 15 years professional experience
·         He/She must be a member of recognized engineers’ professional organization
·         Ten (10) years minimum experience as Project Manager or Resident Engineer in managing or administering of Road Construction/upgrading/rehabilitation Projects representing any of the three parties in construction contracts
·         (7) years is on construction of Asphalt Concrete road projects.
·         He/She must have extensive broad experience in highway design/supervision, works Contract administration and evaluation of Contractors’ claims for at least ten (10) years as Resident Engineer or Team Leader level on a road construction Contract of comparable magnitude
·         Knowledge of FIDIC Contract procedure is desirable.
·         Experience on road projects in Africa will be an advantage.
Desirable
·         Knowledge of French highly desirable but not a MUST


Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Ref No: HR-Rec-01
Job Grade: 4.1
Education / Degree: Degree in Civil Engineering
Years of Experience: 10 years including 5 years for an international company

Overview: The Senior Design Engineer shall be responsible for enabling quality and timely delivery of the required engineering components of all the firms’ projects assigned by the Project Director / Project Manager.
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
·         Assigning duties to the CAD Team
·         Checking quality of work prepared
·         Keeping track of progress and adhering to deadlines as prescribed by the Project Director / Project Manager
·         Able to prepare Engineering Drawings
·         Managing all Administrative Requirements (hard copies/ soft copies / Server updates)
·         Management the production of the highway design (geometry, drainage, roadside amenities): technical Management and coordination of the design team formed by Design engineers and CAD technicians
·         Be responsible for organization, planning, monitoring (respect of both budget and deadlines) and ensure the quality control of the tasks related to the highway design;
·         Coordinate with other Design teams (Geotechnical, Structures, Environment, Buildings…), compiling the information and managing the interfaces between the different fields of expertise
·         Produce design reports, Bills of Quantities, Costs Estimates and all written documents related to his activity
·         Active reporting to the Project Director/Manager on progress, outstanding issues,
·         Interview and section of new members to the design team
·         Inducting new staff in the design team
·         Data Collection and Collation
·         Performing such duties as may be required by the Project Director / Project Manager from time to time
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
·         Degree in Civil Engineering
·         Post graduate qualification would be advantageous
·         10 years of experience as Commercial Assistant / Business Development
·         Minimum 4 years’ experience with an international engineering consulting company
·         Construction background would be a plus
·         Fluent in English
·         French would be advantageous
·         Working Knowledge of CAD programs i.e. Auto CAD, Civil CAD 3D, Project Wise, Sharepoint, BIM
·         Experience in Supervision and Office Support
·         A Team Player able to work under pressure and demonstrate professional coordination
·         Effective interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills
·         Decisiveness and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
