Cytonn Investments is an independent investments management firm, with offices in Nairobi – Kenya and D.C. Metro – U.S. We are primarily focused on offering alternative investment solutions to global and local institutional investors, individual high net-worth investors, and diaspora investors interested in the East-African region.
Our investments are in real estate and private equity. Real estate investments are made through our development affiliate, Cytonn Real Estate, where we currently have over Kshs. 82 billion (USD 820 mn) of projects under mandate across ten projects. In private equity, we invest in banking, insurance, education, hospitality and technology. Our financial services investments in Sub Saharan Africa are made through our Cytonn Financial Services Fund (CFSF) through which we are the 6th largest shareholder in NIC Bank in Kenya. Investments in education and hospitality are made through Cytonn Education Services and Cytonn Hospitality, respectively.
The Clerk of Works will work under the supervision of the Project Management Managers to ensure that the interests of Cytonn Real Estate are represented. This is in regards to ensuring that the quality of both materials and workmanship are in accordance with the design information such as specification and engineering drawings, in addition to recognised quality standards.

Responsibilities

·         Coordinate, monitor and inspect work of construction contractor for assigned projects on behalf of the Cytonn Real Estate
·         Review contractor shop drawings and provide comments on conformance/non-conformance to architect
·         Act as liaison between architect and contractor
·         Conduct on-site observation and spot-checks of work in progress
·         Ensure contract compliance by the contractor, such as conducting tests specified in contract and installing materials/equipment as specified in contract, and report deficiencies to Project Manager, Architect and contractor
·         Provide reports on all on-site matters, including third-party inspections, progress, safety concerns, and causes for delay
·         To be responsible for the inspection of the workmanship and practices of contractors and/or crews engaged in construction
·         Maintain job-site files, documents, reports and daily log; prepare periodic reports for Project manager and Architect as required
·         Attend all job-site meetings as a Cytonn Real Estate representative or in conjunction with Project Manager
·         Receive, record, present for architect approval, and maintain custody of samples submitted by construction contract
·         Review requests for progress payments submitted by construction contractor and forward with recommendations to Architect
·         Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

·         A grade of C+ and above in KCSE (or equivalent) with good grades in Maths and languages
·         Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction or Structural Engineering would be preferable. and above or any other relevant qualification. Registration at the Institute of Clerk of Works of Kenya will be an added advantage
·         Practical Knowledge of project plan development and implementation
·         At least 8 years of experience with a preference for managing big projects
·         An in-depth knowledge of the construction industry
·         A sound knowledge of building regulations
·         Responsible and work under pressure depending on site program deadline
·         Good organisational and project management skills
·         Excellent problem-solving skills
·         Good written and oral communication skills
·         The ability to liaise with staff at all levels
·         The ability to meet targets
·         Innovative and solution oriented individuals

In order to better service our clients, we are looking for highly motivated, self-driven, team players to work on full time basis with the distribution team as unit managers the Mount Kenya Region. The Unit Manger will report to the Distribution Manager and work jointly with the Financial Advisors on strategic plans and initiatives to increase relationship productivity and develop proper contact networks within the channel partners. The candidate will serve as the relationship manager between the customer and other areas of the firm in resolving customer problems and meeting customer needs.
Responsibilities
·         Proactively developing business relationships and securing additional business opportunities from both new and existing clients to meet the given sales targets
·         Recruit, manage, support, coach, develop and evaluate a team of financial advisors
·         Strengthen and expand client relationships by providing customized service and ensuring client expectations are exceeded
·         Attend prospect and client meetings to make presentations and oversee follow up
·         Identifying opportunities for product development, and other product offerings
·         Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
·         KCSE grade B- and above
·         Has an undergraduate degree with at least second class upper honors from a recognizable institution
·         A minimum of 4 years’ experience in financial advisory
·         Can effectively and efficiently manage a team of individuals with minimal supervision
·         He/she should be detail oriented with good multi-tasking skills
·         He/she should have excellent oral and written communication capabilities
