Business Analyst

Role Purpose: This position is responsible for managing efficient and effective end to end implementation of voice price lists, voice traffic routing, billing (both voice and data) and service quality management in accordance with the set standards and processes.
He/She will also be responsible for analyzing and reporting relevant departmental performance measurements for decision making across the department on tactical and operational levels (Business KPIs, Objectives and Business Intelligence).

Responsibilities

·         Coordinate and monitor billing tasks from sales, service delivery and IT teams.
·         Prepare accurate and timely billing schedules and invoices for voice and data services(Hubbing, Transit, Kenya Terminating, Backbone, Cross connections, IRU,VSAT, Collocation ,and other services)
·         Develop, deploy and Manage Supplier inventory system for capacity and collocation service providers.
·         Ensure seamless engagement with relevant stakeholders.
·         Provide a support service for the execution and management of sales orders and billing for the department.
·         Identify and implement optimization opportunities for processes and procedures across the department to optimize cost and support efficiency.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, BBIT, Business Management or a related field from a recognized Institution.
·         Skills in Databases (Oracle/MYSQL) and UNIX scripting.
·         Skills web programming
·         Good knowledge of telecom industry with preferably good understanding of Interconnect, roaming and billing.
·         2- 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, Project management and Process Optimization.
·         Good experience in project management

Senior Core Network Engineer
Region: Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting to: Manager – Core Network Planning
Band: 3
Department: Technology Division
The incumbent will be responsible for Planning, Design and engineering of Circuit and Packet Switched Core Telecommunication Networks. The resultant is a performing core network

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·         Responsible for design and capacity planning for the GSM Circuit Switched Core Network nodes including but not limited to MSC, HLR/HSS,MGW, STP (SPS) and PoI
·         Evaluation of new and existing hardware, planning & design for new solutions, implementation & integration of new hardware/software, project management, and optimization of the CS-Core network.
·         Translate marketing inputs into core network architecture and design for mobile circuit switched service
·         Resolve faults related to design on all equipment under CS-Core network domain.
·         Configure data for new systems with vendors and create work instructions for existing systems.
·         Provide recommendation reports to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of existing CS- Core services.
·         Manage all software and hardware configuration for the CS-Core nodes.
·         Set relevant KPIs for the CS-core network and ensure the same are met.
·         Build internal and external relationships with key customers and suppliers to deliver continuous quality solutions to the business.

Academic / Professional Qualifications

·         Relevant University Degree in Telecommunication or Computer Engineering or any-related technical degree from a recognized institution
·         At least 3 years’ experience in a Telcom environment dealing with Circuit Switch Core Network and signalling systems.

IT Specialist – Database Administration
Region: Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting to: Technology Manager – IT Systems Support
Band: 3
Department: Technology Division
Role Purpose: Under the direction of Technology Manager – IT Systems Support, the Database Administrator is responsible for capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.

Responsibilities

·         Installing and upgrading the enterprise databases (Oracle, MySQl, MS-SQL) and application tools
·         Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system and servers
·         Creating primary database storage structures after application developers have designed an application
·         Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application
·         Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
·         Ensuring compliance with Oracle and MSSQL license agreement
·         Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
·         Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
·         Maintaining archived data on tape or EMC Data Domain Backup system
·         Work as part of a team and provide 7×24 support when required
·         Patch Management and Version Control
·         Provisioning storage to servers
·         Check performance of some key, custom, long running reports and processes.
·         Check some key Oracle statistics like buffer hits, dictionary hits, sorts to memory/disk.

 Qualifications

·         Relevant Bachelor’s degree in BBIT, Information Technology, Engineering or any-related technical degree from a recognized institution
·         2-6 years relevant experience in a similar position
·         Knowledge of the telecommunications industry will be an added advantage
