Vacant Position: Reporting Accountant

Our client a market leader in Hospitality is urgently seeking to hire dynamic and result oriented Reporting Accountant.

The Reporting Accountant will actively contribute to the month-end close process and applies best principles of accounting to prepare and analyse internal and external financial reports and evaluate technical accounting matters by performing the following duties;

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinating Gross Profit and turnover reporting including analysis and commentary on the same to enable in management decision making

· Posting/recognition of monthly turnover in the accounting system

· Preparation of daily and periodic cashflow forecasts

· Preparation of monthly management accounts, to be distributed to management on a timely basis and in the agreed format including:
➢ Profit and Loss
➢ Balance Sheet
➢ Cashflow statement
➢ Debtors & Creditors Reports

· Preparation of quarterly board packs and accompanying schedules

· Performing financial analysis on management reports including commentary on variances

· Overheads management including accompanying analysis and suggesting corrective measures

· Preparation of year-end accounts and providing information for external auditors.

· Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

· Suggesting updates to the accounting manual and procedures as appropriate.

· Advising and updating the Head of Finance on any irregularities or concerns about invoices or any other financial matters.

· Liaising with the finance team to provide financial analysis on all aspects of project budgets.

· Preparation and submission of all statutory returns

· Support of complex managers on all financial reporting needs

· Assist with the analytical review of month end results for discussion with the Head of Finance

· Payroll preparation, management and posting including reconciliation with the ledger

· Continuously review the systems to ensure they are meeting the needs of the organization and to exploit the benefit of the software.

· Manage and protect the financial information and Client’s records as relevant to their task.

· Ad-hoc assistance to the Head of Finance.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

· Bachelor Commerce Degree in Accounting or any other relevant field and CPAK

· 5 – 6 years proven multi-location (retail/restaurant) experience as a Reporting Accountant a plus

· Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply technical accounting guidance

· Report-writing software knowledge required

· Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,

· Results-oriented, detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and willing to work beyond normal scheduled work hours as necessary

· Ability to think independently and provide useful and constructive feedback

· Reliable, driven, self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· High degree of integrity and accuracy

· Establishes, fosters, and maintains good working relationships with internal and external customers
