The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an
institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya, which is an agency of the

The hospital is part of a network of

The Hospital seeks to recruit
professionals for the following positions:
Manager –
Information, Communication and Technology (ICT)
Overall
Responsibility: Reporting to the Head of
Finance, the successful candidate will direct the formulation and implement a
vibrant ICT strategy geared towards the achievement of an effective and
efficient Institution.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Responsible for the formulation of
ICT business plans that are aligned to the Hospital Strategy,
·
Responsible for Identifying skills
gaps and secure necessary skills within IT to deliver on set objectives,
·
Lead innovative ICT initiatives,
change and process improvement,
·
Formulate and implement policies to
manage and maintain a robust monitoring, controls, business continuity,
security, backup and recovery of mission critical systems.
·
Proactively review ICT strategies,
policies, plans and technologies in response to the fast changing operating
environment and business challenges in a manner that supports and optimizes
operations whilst at minimum costs.
·
Provide and maintain status reporting
on ICT systems, service delivery, incident management, ICT Contracts & SLA
compliance and fulfilment levels as required.
·
Responsible for ICT Budget,
procurement of ICT systems, services technologies & infrastructure in line
business plans.
Requirements
and Experience
·
Master’s Degree in Information
Communication and Technology or, Degree recognized in Kenya
·
Diploma in Project Management would
be an added advantage
·
Minimum five (5) years’ experience
while two (2) years should be in senior management;
·
Excellent interpersonal,
organizational and public relations skills
·
Excellent ICT knowledge in system and
network administration;
·
Good people management skills
Infectious Disease Specialist
Overall
Responsibility: Reporting to
the Medical Director the successful candidate will oversee management of
tropical /infectious/communicable diseases with special emphasis on HIV and
actively participate in CPD activities including teaching of interns and Senior
House Officers.
Requirements
and Experience
·
M. Med in Internal Medicine or
Paediatrics and Child Health
·
At least three years of experience in
tropical/infectious /communicable diseases practice
·
A team player with ability to maintain
good working relations with colleagues, other health care workers and hospital
management.
·
Expert knowledge in the management of
tropical /infectious/communicable diseases with special emphasis on HIV
·
Excellent communication skills.
·
Participate in CPD activities
including teaching of Interns and Senior House Officers.
Resident Anaesthesiologist
Overall
Responsibility: Reporting to
the Head of Department the successful candidate will be responsible for
efficient delivery of anesthesiology services to patients, mentoring junior
doctors, assisting with critical patients in the ACU among others.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Planning anesthesia services through
thorough review of patients pre, intra and post operatively
·
Giving anesthesia
·
Responding to emergencies that
require the input of an anesthesiologist
·
Sharing on-call responsibilities in
anesthesia
·
Being part of the team that looks
after critical patients in acute care unit
·
Teaching and mentoring of junior
Doctors
Requirements
and Experience
·
Master’s Degree of Medicine in
Anesthesia from a University recognized in Kenya
·
Bachelor Degree of anesthesia and ICU
or Medicine & Surgery
·
Minimum 2 years work experience as an
anesthesiologist
·
Specialist Recognition as an
anesthesiologist desirable

Data Officer
Overall
Responsibility: Reporting to the Quality Coordinator,
the successful candidate will be responsible for management of data, facilitation
of document management among other duties.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Aggregates Institutional and
Departmental Key performance indicators (KPI’s), Patient satisfaction data
·
Data entry, analysis, presentation.
·
Preparing summaries of all analyzed
data.
·
Maintaining archives of all the
databases created
·
Updates databases on monthly basis
for quarterly reporting
·
Timely submission of reports in
reference to the agreed timelines
·
Uploading and updating quality &
patient related documents (Policies & Forms) on the intranet
·
Preparing and updating manual folders
for documents
·
Help other support services maintain
their databases
·
Clerical duties for the department
Requirements
and Experience
·
Relevant Degree in Social Sciences
·
Proficient in Microsoft office;
excel, powerpoint, word, publisher & Vision.
·
Proficient in use of Statistical
tools; SPSS and other IT applications.
·
Minimum three (3) years’ relevant
work experience in the field of data management, research, analytics and metrics.
·
Effective communication and
interpersonal skills.
·
Highly discrete and exercise
confidentiality
