Senior Credit Analyst
SMEP Microfinance Bank Limited is a

We are inviting applications from

He /she shall safeguard the
institution against loss by ensuring accuracy, completeness and credit
worthiness of all the proposals for loan facilities and recommend appropriate
risk mitigation mechanisms.
Responsibilities
·
Management of credit risks through
analysis and recommend approvals for facilities within the Institutions
tolerable risk levels
·
Ensure that the PAR of the portfolio
is within target
·
Performing quality assurance checks
on revenue assurance and system surveillance on loan modules
·
Ensure high turnaround time (TAT) for
Credit proposals
·
Ensure that all appraisal decisions
meet the agreed SLA
·
Ensure all disbursed consumer loans
are forwarded to employers for booking and payments are collected/remitted in
time
·
Co-ordinate efforts together with
Risk, Internal Audit, Credit Administration and Branches to ensure adherence to
the Bank’s Credit Policy and lending guidelines
·
Work closely with the Head of Credit
and Head of Risk & compliance to maintain appropriate credit risk
management culture
·
Review loan security margins as per
the existing market trends and advice the management on any necessary reviews.
·
Recommend policy reviews for customer
experience improvement and risk management improvement based on
experiences and industry trends
·
Monitor, on a continuous basis, all
transactions to ensure that unusual and suspicious transactions are reported to
the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)
·
Implementing and enforcing the board
approved AML, KYC & CFT policy in as far as is applicable within credit
risk analysis
·
Performing quality assurance checks
on revenue assurance and system surveillance on loan modules and report
anomalies noted.
Qualifications
·
A minimum grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE
·
An undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in
a Business related field from a recognized institution.
·
Relevant professional training in
Credit management with advanced Knowledge on Credit risk assessment approaches
and models.
·
Qualifications in accounting or
Finance are an added advantage.
·
At least 5 years relevant experience
a reputable Financial institution, in appraising SME, Group and Individual
Micro loans
·
Proficiency in computers is
mandatory.
·
Ability to analyze and interpret
financial statements
·
Clear understanding of
microfinance/banking industry is an added advantage.
·
Good interpersonal &
communication skills with excellent customer service.
·
A team player with the drive to
improve performance.
·
Self-driven and possess the ability
to work with minimum supervision
·

Risk & Compliance Officer

Reporting to the Risk &
Compliance Manager, the job holder will be part of the team responsible for the
Bank’s overall enterprise risk management and compliance framework.
Responsibilities
·
Implementation of the Risk and
Compliance framework and Policies in the Bank.
·
Monitoring and tracking of Banks’
compliance to regulatory guidelines statutory requirements and internal
processes and procedures.
·
Identification and assessment of the
compliance risks associated with the bank’s current and proposed future
business activities, including new products, new business relationships and
processes
·
Continuous monitoring of compliance
with internal policies, procedures and guidelines by through regular and
comprehensive Risk and Control assessment and testing
·
Providing assurance of the bank’s
readiness in case of business interruption/disruption through regular reviews
of the unit BCP plans.
·
Responsible for monitoring compliance
and reporting for Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism
·
Providing regular training of staff
to build on risk management and compliance awareness
·
Reviewing and providing advise on
corporate governance management
·
Regular reviewing of transactions to
ensure that high risk transactions are identified and appropriately approved.
Qualifications
·
Bachelors’ degree in Accountancy,
Finance or Business Administration.
·
Must have acquired professional
certification in Accountancy or Auditing
·
Post graduate degree will be an added
advantage
·
Proficiency in MS Office suite and
previous experience with T24 Banking system will be an added advantage.
·
At least 2 years experience in a
Compliance, Risk or Internal Audit role in a reputable Banking institution
·
Keen to detail and sharp analytical
skills
·
Excellent report writing skills
·
An excellent and proactive planner
with great organization skills
·
Flexible and willing to travel across
the country at short notice
·
Good interpersonal and communication
skills
·
Between 30 and 40 years of age
·
