A newly start up farm, based in Embu
County, focusing on Dairy farming, citrus fruit farming and vegetable farming
is recruiting for various positions;
1. Farm Manager
Directly accountable for general management
of the farm to deliver profitability, farm operations and general maintenance
of crops and animals.
Qualifications
·
Certificate
or diploma in Agriculture, farm management, horticulture or animal production.
·
demonstrate
in-depth knowledge of agronomic requirements of high quality vegetable
production.
·
be
able to create and sustain a huge client base for consumption of farm
produce.
·
Demonstable
knowledge of marketing skills required.
·
minimum
3 years experience in busy farm that grows vegetables i.e. cabbages, kales,
pumpkins, snowpeas will be an added advantage.
·
Should
possess a motor cycle driving licence.
2. Dairy Farm Supervisor
Candidate should demonstrate ability to
grow the current herd size of 30 High potential Dairy cows to about 120 in 2
years, and oversee the operations, growth and profitability of the dairy unit.
Qualifications
·
Certificate
or diploma in animal health and production, with good training, understanding
and experience in hands-on dairy farm management.
·
Minimum
2 years experience of a busy farm with minimum 50 dairy cattle.
·
Must
posses knowledge and experience in fodder formulation, able to do reports and
good communication skills.
·
Candidate
expected to live at the farm.
3. Farm Attendants - Vegetables
This is routine manual work in specialised
farming activities on the farm depending on qualifications and
experience.
The work involves performing a variety of
or semiskilled farming related tasks in accordance with specific instructions
or a well established routine.

Over
2 years experience in vegetable farming, knowledge of cabbages, kales, pumkins,
snowpeas, capsicum, onions and chillies.
·
must
demonstrate previous experience in growing vegetables, variety selection, pest
and disease control and packaging.
