The Network and Systems Security
internship is an intensive program that is meant to indulge the skills of the
interns in network security, server security and endpoint security, penetration
testing, risk assessment, vulnerability assessment, etc. with a view of growing
expertise in the aforementioned domains. The position is a three-month program
of which the best performing candidates are given an offer to join our Cyber
Security team and be a part of our world class technology division which offers
differentiated products to our clients to give them a competitive edge.
Responsibilities
·
Design, configure, manage and
maintain network and systems security including firewalls, servers and endpoint
security
·
Maintain system security by sourcing
and updating necessary security patches and analyzing security reports to
identify trends
·
Deploy, administer and troubleshoot
access control and CCTV Surveillance systems
·
Provide end user support and
training, explaining complex concepts clearly
·
Performing L2 switching and L3
routing in network design and hardening.
·
Install, configure, deploy and
troubleshoot Active Directory services, DHCP and DNS server.
·
Implement a Network Admission Control
system
·
Document information security tools,
processes and procedures.
·
Perform network penetration, network
vulnerability assessments, and IT audits to identify cybersecurity loopholes
within the network infrastructure
·
Performs computer forensics and
e-discovery.
·
Troubleshoot OSI layer and TCP/IP
related problems
·
Any other functions as may be
assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
·
Knowledge and/or experience with
threat analysis and penetration testing methodologies and tooling
·
Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science, Information Systems or specialized training/certification.
·
A grade of B+ and above in KCSE (or
equivalent) with good grades in math and languages
·
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and
UNIX/Linux environments
·
Good knowledge on cybersecurity and
information security
·
At least one network or security
certification is needed. (CCNA or CCNA security)
Learning Opportunities
The candidate will learn about
information security risk assessment, application code analysis,penetration
testing among other technical skills. Cytonn also provides learning
opportunities in personal financial management, and real estate investment
products.
Additional Information
The candidates will be required to
undertake a simulation exercise inorder to advance to the next level of the
recruitment process.
