Directorate: Commercial Services
 

Position: Director, Commercial Services

Location: Headquarters - Kampala Road Industrial Area, Nairobi.
 
Reporting to: Managing Director
 
Broad Role: The provide effective leadership and strategy for service delivery, revenue generation and customer satisfaction
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure provision of timely and high quality customer services that meets or exceed their expectations
  • Ensure timely, complete and accurate reading and billing of services and revenue collection
  • Manage and supervise commercial aspects of the Company’s operations, particularly as they relate to meter reading, billing and customer enrollment
  • Develop short and long-term business strategies and operating plans that reflect the company’s goals and priorities
  • Ensure the provision of comprehensive commercial information systems, including up-to-date customer database, to achieve the overall Company customer base objectives
  • Develop the directorates policies and procedures and action plans in line with overall company mission and objectives
  • Develop and implement a modern customer service charter meant to enhance services to the customers.
Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Master in Business Administration
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing or related field is an added advantage
  • At least 10 years’ experience, three (3) of which must be at a management position in water utility.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong report writing, management, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with standard office computer applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A good understanding of complexities in developing systems for customer identification, billing, and motivating them and staff to cooperate in meter reading and revenue collection is necessary for this job.

Position: Director, Human Resource and Administration Services

Reporting to: Managing Director
 
Broad Role: To provide effective leadership and strategic direction in the management of human capital and administrative services by developing relevant human capital and administrative initiatives and performance improvement interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and retention required talent for the company
  • Management of cultural & behavioral change in the organization
  • Ensuring compliance to Human Resources related regulations and statutes
  • Developing the necessary Human Resources to achieve company objectives
  • Management of industrial relations in the company
  • Management of employees and organizational development programs.
  • Ensure prudent management of employees performance and compensation
  • Managing the Human Resource related risks
  • Management of corporate occupational safety and health programs
  • Management of employees payroll
  • Ensure efficient & effective management of company fleet
Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or its equivalent
  • Masters’ degree in Human Resource Management
  • Higher diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Member – Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
  • 10 years’ experience in Human Resource Management, three (3) of which should be at management level in an organization with at least two thousand employees.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Strong report writing, management, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multitask in a strong-paced environment
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Competency in Human Resource Information Management System
  • Competencies in performance management.

Position: 
Director, Finance and Strategy Services

Location: Headquarters - Kampala Road Industrial Area, Nairobi.
 
Reporting to: Managing Director
 
Broad Role: To ensure effectiveness and efficiency in financial resource management, investments and enhance accountability in resources utilization for financial sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Formulate the company's financial strategy and ensure proper implementation
  • Ensure sound corporate governance through proper controls and risk management
  • Develop, implement, maintain and review of sound financial policies, systems and procedures
  • Coordinate corporate planning, monitoring and evaluation of company performance
  • Ensure budgeting and preparation of financial statement are in accordance with relevant regulations and statutes
  • Ensure efficient and effective revenue collection and expenditure
  • Ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting in compliance with the company requirements and accounting standards
  • Advise the company on the financial viability of proposed investments and funding strategies
  • Ensure compliance with legal and statutory regulations
  • Oversee the implementation and performance of an effective Integrated Accounting System
Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant business field
  • Master’s Degree in respective field
  • CPA (K) or equivalent qualification
  • Registered member of a relevant Professional Body
  • 10 years’ experience, three (3) of which should be at management level in a utility organization.

Position: Managing Director

Grade: 1
 
Location: Headquarters -Kampala Road Industrial Area, Nairobi.
 
Reporting to: Board of Directors

Broad Role: To lead the management team of the company and be responsible for the day to day operations in order to provide for the effective and efficient provision of water and sewerage services at optimal cost, be responsible for ordinary expenditure within approved budgets, keep the board informed on performance, prepare corporate plans and budgets and implement board resolutions. 

He or she shall represent the management in the board.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure shareholder and other stakeholders’ value increment through;
  • Provision of leadership on the operations and ensure high level of integrity in the Company
  • Communication to the public on the issues of water and sewerage services
  • Handling multiple functions and managing extensive human, financial and capital resources
  • Ensuring prudent management of Company assets
  • Strategy development and implementation
  • Driving change management in the Company
Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Law.
  • Master’s Degree in respective field
  • 15 years’ experience, three (3No.) of which must be at senior management in utility management
  • Must be registered with a relevant professional body.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in strategic management is an added advantage
