The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya, which is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. 

The hospital is part of a network of health facilities, which includes Hospitals and Outreach health facilities across East Africa. 

The Aga Khan Hospital is in an exciting growth phase and has attained acknowledgment of its quality by achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification, ISO 15189:2012 accreditation for laboratory services and is moving towards Joint Commission International Accreditation. 

The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has also expanded its services to Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Busia and Homa Bay Counties. 

The Hospital seeks to recruit a professional for the following position:
 
Dispatch Officer

Overall Responsibility: 
The successful candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate processing and dispatch of all the invoices to the respective clients in an efficient and effective manner as per the hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • At least a CPA II.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience.
  • Strong computer skills including experience working with Ms Excel
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure as part of a professional team.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment, communicate information clearly, and keep a constant focus on the work
Radiographer - Kakamega Medical Centre

Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Radiology Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for providing high quality diagnostic services using the most appropriate radiographic techniques and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient assessment and clinical requirement to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
  • Perform a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce images of high quality.
  • Maintain close contact with patients while waiting for tests and post examination stay in the department.
  • Undertake quality control checks on X-ray equipment in order to ensure quality assurance and audit initiatives.
  • Enforce health and safety requirements at workplace and welfare issues including ionizing radiation regulations in order to protect self, patient and the public.
Requirements
  • Diploma (Higher Diploma) in Medical Imaging Sciences from recognized and registered Medical Institution.
  • Must be registered and licensed by the Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.
  • At least three (3) years working experience in a busy medical institution.
  • Excellent knowledge of techniques in general and specialized Radio diagnostics, Computed tomography (CT) and Fluoroscopy.
  • Excellent computer skills in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Good public relations and communication skills.
  • Knowledge in CR (Computerized Radiography), Mammography and Ultrasonography is an added advantage.


MRI Technologist

Overall Responsibility: 
Reporting to the Radiology Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of effective Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services at the Hospital.

Requirements
  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences.
  • Certificate or post graduate training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • Must be registered and licensed by the Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.
  • Must have at least 5 years working experience 2 of which should be working experience on a 1.5 Tesla MRI Unit.
  • Excellent knowledge of techniques in general and specialized Radio diagnostics, Computed Tomography (CT) and Fluoroscopy.
  • Excellent computer skills in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Field Officer

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Project Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing assigned project related activities at the community level in Bomachoge-Borabu sub - county.
  • Support the establishing / strengthening of the community level structures to achieve project targeted health promotion indicators at the community level in collaboration with the project team and the MoH.
  • Planning and implementing capacity building / training related activities carried out by the project.
  • Play a key role in strengthening the eHealth interventions of the project need analysis, implementation, set up and maintenance of the services and equipment.
Requirements
  • Diploma / Higher diploma in Social development, community health and development or any other relevant qualification.
  • Experience in implementing Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health interventions through community health structures will be an added advantage.
  • Competent knowledge of the use of Microsoft Excel spread sheets, Word, Access.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in the field to promote Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health tapping into community resources and linkages.
  • Experience in gender, establishing Community Health structures and early child development is an added advantage.
  • Experience of working at the village and first level health care facility in rural settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a large team of field staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
