Head of HR and Administration

The holder will report
directly to the Chief Operating Officer on issues concerning Human Resource
Policy and Strategy; and will be directly responsible for all employee HR
matters.
The holder will support and
sustain a culture of SBM Bank Kenya in HR matters and support related training
initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Participate in
the development of the Bank’s plans and programs as a strategic partner
but particularly from the perspective of the impact on staff .
- Translate the
strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational
plans.
- Evaluate and
advice on the impact of long term planning of new programs/strategies and
regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation,
development and retention of staff .
- Develop
staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify
talent within and outside the Bank for positions of responsibility.
Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all
levels within the Bank.
- Develop
progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide
motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and to
provide programs which utilize an employee and company partnership for the
short and long-term health and welfare protection of the employees.
- Implement an
effective Performance Management System that is effective and aligned to
the Bank’s operating strategy in line with the Group’s performance
standards.
- Oversee the HR
Information system, including maintenance of up to-date records of all
Bank Staff in such areas as contracts, staff data, medical
records, Training, etc.
- Oversee all aspects
of Administration within the Bank.
Qualifications, Experience
& Skills:
- Be in
possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or
equivalent. A Masters degree (MA) in HR or Business Management would be an
added advantage
- Have 10 years
relevant experience, five of which must be in a management role.
- Be in
possession of a Diploma in Human Resources and be a member of IHRM
- Have very good
technical knowledge of Kenya’s Labour Laws
- Practical
experience in handling Industrial Relations and ability to resolve any
challenges that are industrial in nature.
