Responsibilities for the Room Attendant Job

o    Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
o    Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
o    Clean all assigned guestrooms including: dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from rooms, and retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenish rooms with supplies
o    Sign in and out master keys daily
o    Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
o    Update and record all cleaned rooms
o    Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office
o    Follow departmental policies and procedures and service standards
o    Report necessary maintenance items
o    Follow all safety and sanitation policies
o    Other duties as assigned

Room Attendant Job Qualifications

o    Previous housekeeping experience an asset
o    Excellent communication and organizational skills
o    Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
o    Highly responsible & reliable
o    Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
o    Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
o    Physical Aspects of Position:
o    Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
o    Constant standing and walking throughout shift
o    Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
o    Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
o    Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
o    Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Kenya
