HR Officer Job in Kenya

Our client is East Africa's leading Electrical Contractor who provide a wide range of electrical contracting services to industrial, commercial and institutional clients across the continent.

They are looking to hire a
 Human Resource Officer who will lead the human resource function and implement HR processes in the organization. 

Responsibilities
  • Put in place a HR strategy that is aligned to company policy.
  • Put in place a man power plan and succession plan to ensure long term staff availability.
  • To develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures ensuring legal compliance.
  • Maintain sound industrial relations.
  • Lead and manage the staff recruitment, and selection process.
  • To develop a performance management system that ensures performance is tracked across the organization and is assessed objectively.
  • Develop job descriptions for all positions.
  • Develop a training program, facilitate training and evaluate impact of training.
  • Optimal management of discipline.
  • Review staff contracts to ensure they comply with the provisions of the employment act.
  • Manage employee attendance.
  • Maintain custody of, and update employee personnel records ensuring statutory compliance as required.
  • Handle all staff grievances in a prompt, fair manner.
  • Leave management.
  • Coordinate employee health and safety as per legal provisions.
  • Lead and manage the employee separation process.
Qualifications and background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human resources or related field.
  • Higher National Diploma in Human resource management.
  • At least five (5) years experience in Human Resource Management in a labour intensive environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Kenya Labour Laws.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Be well versed with local labour laws.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
