Duma Works is recruiting a Business Development Manager for
one of our clients; a leading provider of taxi services in Kenya.
Responsibilities
Sales Responsibility {Area of Sales, target client market}
- To grow the
value of the company’s customer base in every financial period and ensure
total customer satisfaction on service delivery, information provision and
issue resolution.
- Prepare
forecasts of meetings with clients {using sales call planners} and present
weekly achievement reports to the manager. Weekly sales reports to be
submitted within allotted timelines.
- Ensure a
minimum of 15 planned sales calls a week, unless otherwise advised /
agreed upon with manager.
- Initiate
customer contacts and generate new local business, whilst also migrating
ad hoc customers into permanent, long-term customers through the delivery
of superior customer service.
Marketing Responsibilities {Duties to promote the company’s brand / Products &
Services}
- Work together
with the manager in setting up and mapping out the marketing strategy.
- Address
customer issues and ensure overall customer satisfaction, by ensuring
regular customer service visits, with follow up reports.
Service Responsibilities.
- Communication
with potential customer base to achieve understanding of their
requirements, patterns and freight opportunities.
- Update and
follow up with customers, particularly new and adhoc customers.
- Address
customer issues and ensure overall customer satisfaction, by ensuring
regular customer service visits, with follow up reports.
- Prompt
intervention whenever serious customer issues arise.
- Periodical
customer service surveys carried out and a report submitted to the manager
every 3 months.
Qualifications
- Degree in
business, logistics or transportation-related field preferred.
- Motivated by a
sense of urgency, a will to win, and a talent for negotiating.
- Possesses
excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3 – 5 years of
experience in sales, marketing, customer service and working in a similar
position is required.
- Experience
working in a deadline-driven environment preferred.
- It is expected
that the candidate will use her/his existing professional network to help
the company in broadening its clientele, especially in the commercial and
industry space.
- Take references
from existing customers and get more customers on board.
- Prepare an
annual sales and marketing strategy and budget.
- Continuously
monitor and report on achievements on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
- Prepare weekly
sales and marketing reports for submission to the Chief Executive Officer
and Managing Director.
- Must be able to
work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent
computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Must be able to
