Accounts Assistant
Reports to: Finance Manager
Duty station: Head Office (In Embu)
BIMAS Kenya Limited a renowned micro-finance organisation
Overall Responsibility: To ensure financial transactions are accurately and completely recorded

Accounts Assistant Job Duties and Responsibilities

o    Maintaining all the essentials books of accounts
o    Maintaining cashbooks
o    Reconcile cashbooks with bank statements and forward any reconciling items in time.
o    Check that all the passbooks handled are reconciled
o    Ensure reconciliation of loanes listing is done and on time
o    Make all the necessary preparations for the External audits
o    Ensure safe custody of cheque books currently in use
o    Production of cash balances on a weekly basis.
o    Prepare cheque payment vouchers and write cheques

o    Process, remit and prepare returns of statutory deductions
o    Filing of documents
o    Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience for the Accounts Assistant Job

o    CPA II and or relevant bachelor’s Degree
o    Must have at least ( 1) one year experience within the financial/micro-finance sector
o    Proficiency in computer packages
o    Minimum of a C in KCSE
o    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o    A person of high integrity
o    Certificate of good conduct is mandatory for this position
