Senior Internal Auditor

Reporting to
the Principal Internal Auditor, the Senior Internal Auditor
will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient execution of Kenya
Ferry Services internal audit functions.
Internal Auditor Job Key Responsibilities
o
Participate in the development and
implementation of internal audit work plans and programmes;
o
Support the Principal Internal
Auditor in reporting and providing secretarial services to the Risk and Audit
Committee of the Board;
o
Provide support in ensuring that
audit activities are carried out as per the audit professional guidelines and
other applicable guidelines;
o
Evaluate the adequacy and
effectiveness of internal controls and the operating systems;
o
Work with the Risk Management
Committee to ensure the company has developed systems and controls for an
effective and efficient risk management process;
o
Coordinate the implementation of
management actions and responses in respect to findings and observations raised
by internal auditors;
o
Provide advisory services to the Risk
and Audit Committee, Management and other employees in line with the relevant
guidelines;
o
Support training and developing
internal audit staff; and
o
Review Internal Audit policies and
manuals.
Required Qualifications and Experience for
the Internal Auditor Job
o
A Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting/Finance/ Economics or equivalent in a related fi eld from a
recognized university;
o
CPA (K) or ACCA (UK) or equivalent;
o
Must be a member of ICPAK or other
relevant professional body; and
o
A minimum of three (3) years’ working
experience in a similar or comparable position preferably in the marine
transport industry.
