Established
in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of
migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and
non-governmental partners.
Context: Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-Office
Dadaab and under the direct supervision of the procurement logistics assistant
Dadaab, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
Core
Functions / Responsibilities:
1.
Carry out the tracking and
verification of supplies quality and supervision of its loading, offloading and
transportation.
2.
Receive all incoming supplies, check
for accuracy against delivery notes and purchase orders, and report on any
discrepancies.
3.
Supervise casual cargo handlers,
verify work has been done, prepare and track payments.
4.
Ensure all assets are well
maintained, stored and assist in conducting a periodic inventory of IOM assets
or whenever requested.
5.
Coordinate with requesting units on
goods/services to be received and obtain satisfactory delivery notes.
6.
Provide and follow up the office
needs of stock, expendables, services and share the same with COS
assistant/HSO.
7.
Ensure there is an adequate and
neatly organized filling system for waybills, inventory records and other
procurement and logistical records.
8.
Ensure cleanliness and orderly
arrangement of stores.
9.
As needed may Act as COS assistant
during his absence due to illness/leave.
10.
Perform any other related tasks as
requested.
Required
Qualifications and Experience
Education
·
Completed Bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration or related field from an accredited academic
institution with one year of relevant professional experience; or
·
Completed High School/ Certificate
with three years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
·
Be proficient with Ms Office Products
(Excel, Outlook, word etc.)
·
Be a team player, flexible and
willing to learn.
·
Ability to pay attention to details,
work under pressure and meet deadlines
Languages
·
Fluency in English and Kiswahili is
required.
·
Somali language is an added advantage
