We are seeking to fill the
following positions in one of our project sites in Mwea.
Candidates who live in and
around the Mwea area or those who are willing to relocate at own cost will be
given preference.
Excavator Operator (Wetlands)
- Operate 20 ton
excavator in wetlands
- Experience as
an excavator working on a construction irrigation project
- At least 2
years’ experience working as an excavator operator in the wetlands – A
MUST (mud and wetlands)
Electrician
- Assemble,
install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment,
appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose
malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment
and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the
problem.
- Connect wires
to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect
electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards,
defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance
with codes.
- Advise
management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical
systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and
fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and
oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plan layout and
installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job
specifications and local codes.
- At least 3
years relevant job experience with Grade II testing qualifications
Plumber
- Perform general
plumbing work including installing storm water, sanitary and water piping
systems, assembling and installing pipes, valves, fittings and fixtures,
and testing pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
- Perform
physical laboring tasks associated with plumbing work such as lifting and
adjusting heavy objects, concreting and rendering, and cleaning up work
site.
- Safe and
effective operation and maintenance of assigned tools, plant and equipment
associated with the job using required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Review building
plans and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing water supply
networks and waste and drainage systems.
- Estimate hours,
materials and special equipment required to perform specific tasks.
- Order materials
required to perform specific tasks and schedule work in cooperation with
other trades and suppliers.
- Keep records of
assignments and produce work reports.
- Comply with
organizational policies and procedures and local laws as appropriate.
- At least 3
years relevant experience with grade II qualifications
Bull Dozer Operators
Operates tractor equipped
with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute
earth and to push trees and rocks from land preparation to undertake
construction project
Drives bulldozer in
successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade
following markings on grade stakes or hand signals
At least 5 years relevant job experience with Grade II qualification
Motor Grader Operator
The grader operator is
responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the motor grader.
The grader is to perform
appropriate grade finishing, spread and mix materials in order to dry and prep
roads, construct road surface to grade specifications, lay cold mix, and/or
shave and rip out old road surfaces
At least 5 years relevant job experience with Grade II qualification
Notes
- Unless
explicitly indicated all positions require candidates to have a minimum of
a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- For all
positions, experience in a construction company is REQUIRED
