Finance Manager Job in Kenya

We are a leading company seeking to recruit a highly ambitious candidate to fill in the following position:
 
Finance Manager
 
The Finance Manager will be reporting to the General Manager; this position is a high-achieving individual with a verifiable track record within management / the finance function at an established company(ies). 

The Finance Manager will be responsible for implementing financial policies of the company, financial processing and monitoring the budget on a day-to-day basis.


Principal Accountabilities
  • Responsible for financial reporting, working capital management, revenue and cost assurance.
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Developing and managing relations with other stakeholders among them banks and auditors (Internal and External)
  • Ensure that periodic financial reports are prepared and presented on time and in the appropriate manner taking into consideration the legal requirements.
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
  • Make Budgetary and Financial forecasts accurately and communicate the same to the MD and/or the Board of Directors as and when required.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Monitors and analyses department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Advising the MD and BOD on the financial implications of business/project activities.
  • Actively managing the company cash flow on a daily basis, generate relevant projections and weekly forecasting, and manage the capital needs and budgeting process.
  • Determining utilization, revenue, profitability per initiative, and develop project reports.
  • Preparing of monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial statements; and communicating the analyses to the MD and board on a regular basis.
  • Preparing terms of reference and overseeing the consultancy in the field of the financial advisory firms to be engaged by the company.
  • Undertake any other tasks as may be prescribed from time to time by management
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
  • Must be a fully qualified ACCA/CA/CPA; ideally with a Bachelors’ degree in Commerce a related degree. A Master’s degree will be a distinct advantage.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with ability to think outside the box,
  • Over 5 in a similar role in the FMCG sector
  • The ideal candidate should have experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination,
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making, and
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
