development aid to communities affected by poverty and unequal access to

For over a century, CMMB has worked to strengthen and support communities through healthcare programs and initiatives, the distribution of medicines and medical supplies through our Healing Help program, and the placement of volunteers.
Maternal,
Newborn & Child Health Specialist
Location: Mutomo, Kitui, Kenya
Overview: The Maternal, Newborn & Child Health Specialist, reporting
to the Country Director, is responsible for providing direct technical support
and mentorship of health care workers in public health facilities as well as
county health personnel to ensure provision of expanded high quality integrated
health care in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health issues including reproductive
health.
Responsibilities
- Provide
onsite clinical mentoring in MNCH to health facility staff to strengthen
service delivery.
- Lead,
coordinate and deliver training and the necessary technical backup for
MNCH facilities.
- Coordinate
and implement health, nutrition, mental health and dental services to
children.
- Help
the project beneficiaries access MNCH programs.
- Facilitate
proper implementation of written proposal relating to MNCH.
- Support
implementation of Kenya National Guidelines and other relevant guidelines
relating to MNCH.
- Develop
an annual plan that includes targeted activities for MNCH program.
- Ensure
completion of screenings, referral follow – up and treatment, ongoing care
and updates and maintenance of health services records and tracking
systems for all pregnant women and children in accordance with state and
referral guidelines.
- In
collaboration with MOH strengthen systems that include necessary MNCH/SRH
data capture tools, as well as service delivery that ensures the
documentation of the impact on MNCH/RH.
- Conduct
needs assessment; prepare project proposal and implementation plan, and
track project budget utilization & activity implementation performance
for MNCH.
- Provide
technical assistance in planning, implementation, monitoring and
evaluation of MNCH activities at Mutomo Hospital providing information on
updated training materials, MNCH guidelines and different indicators.
- Assist
supervisory in MNCH policy, strategies and implementation challenges and
successes.
- Regularly
visit supported health facilities within the county to provide technical
assistance.
- Identify
potential areas of research; prepare concept papers & proposals and
conduct operational research (implementation research) on MNCH to the
Country Office that will ultimately give raise to programmatic
interventions and better services improvement.
- Implement
locality-specific strategies to increase demand and utilization of MNCH
services.
- Prepare/adapt
and disseminate relevant educational material, teaching aids and clinic
reference materials for the delivery of high impact interventions in MNCH.
- Participate
in monthly dashboard reviews of project clinical outcomes and utilizing
project data to prioritize interventions related to MNCH.
- Collect
and document best practices of MNCH in implementation sites which can be
benchmarked for the future reference.
- Ensure
availability of standards, guidelines and job aids to MNCH team.
- Provide
technical assistance to MNCH related quality improvement activities.
- Coordinate
programmatic evaluation research and actively participate during
development of research concept or protocol.
- Prepare
budget plans, track budget utilization during implementation.
- Timely
preparation of activity reports to the Program/Project Manager.

and submit monthly, quarterly and annual activity and progress reports
(both qualitative and quantitative).

Qualifications

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Specialist
Location: Mutomo, Kitui, Kenya
Overview: The WASH Specialist is responsible for overseeing the implementation of civil engineering and social aspects of WASH components.
The
WASH Specialist will oversee and manage the repair and maintenance of hand
pumps, distribution of water purification sachets as well as water quality
monitoring.
The
incumbent of this position shall ensure that CMMB is in compliance with
government of Kenya regulations.
Responsibilities
Program
Management and Evaluation
- Coordinate
and thoroughly implement field activities and operations as scheduled in
project documents in a professional manner.
- Under
take water quality (microbial, physical and chemical) analysis of treated
water using potable water quality kit, as per water quality technical
guidelines approved by the government/WHO.
- Assist
in preparation of water and sanitation implementation plans or proposals
for possible funding.
- Organize
appropriate trainings in the project area as scheduled.
- Ensure
that program inputs are procured, handled and distributed
responsibly.
- Sensitize
the community both formally and informally on their role in sustainable
water supply and hygiene practices.
- Ensure
that selected communities are given skills and knowledge in the use of sustainable
methods and techniques that will ensure clean water supply and hygiene
practices.
- Effectively
undertake any other duties that may be appropriately assigned by the
supervisor.
Representation
and Networking
- Regularly
liaise with the relevant Stakeholders and other NGOs involved in water and
sanitation interventions for effective implementation of project
activities in the operational area.
- Conduct
field trips for visitors to the project area.
Documentation
- Compile
monthly activity reports for inclusion in the qualitative and quantitative
reports submitted to Country Office, and contribute to the other reports
as required.
Human
Resource Support & Team Work
- Supervise
community groups undertaking water supply and hygiene interventions in a
professional manner.
- Provide
timely and appropriate advice to the respective groups, ensuring that the
groups are duly introduced to the government staff for future
follow-up.
- Provide
support to sectorial teams at the County level, e.g. Water in order to
strengthen overall impact of targeted program interventions.
Technical
Assistance, Capacity Building and Knowledge Management
- Provide
technical advice and support to the country office to plan and organize
capacity building programs for community water management, water quality
surveillance and response planning, sanitation and hygiene
promotion.
- Identify
training needs for the purpose of capacity building and sustainability of
program/project.
- Provide
technical expertise as required, facilitates learning exchanges as well as
policy influencing.
- Ensure
critical gaps in information, knowledge and understanding relating to
water supply, water safety, water resource management and sanitation and
hygiene promotion are recognized and addressed by stakeholders in the
project location.
- Create
inter-sectorial learning alliances, analyze documents and share best
practices.
Influencing
Policy and Building Partnerships
- Analyze
existing WASH sector policies and policy environment, governance and
institutional bottlenecks, systems of management, risk allocation and
coordination systems around WASH sector programs relevant for
beneficiaries.
- Recommend
corrective actions to be taken by the country office to improve efficiency
and effectiveness of WASH sector programs to ensure adequate focus on
proposed intervention in Mutomo area.
- Convene
strategic partnerships to impact on overall beneficiaries to support WASH
programs and resources in Mutomo, Kitui.
- Participate
in meetings with Ministries/Departments/stakeholders responsible for
programs/project review, and follows up on implementation of
recommendations and agreements.

Qualifications
- You

& Communication Technology (ICT) Intern
Location: Mutomo, Kitui, Kenya
Overview: The ICT intern will be
responsible for providing support and assistance to members of the CMMB Kenya
team when necessary in the delivery of ICT projects.
The
intern will assist in maintaining and supporting CMMB Kenya ICT systems,
solutions and services across departments.
Responsibilities
User
support and Systems maintenance
- Ensure
that computers and other ICT facilities in CMMB Kenya are in good working
condition and the users are given support whenever required.

and support processes for formulating information and communication
technology policies, regulations and procedures at CMMB Kenya, and monitor

Overview: TUSAIDIE WASICHANA WAELIMIKE (“Support Girls to Learn”) is an awardee of the prestigious DREAMS Innovation Challenge.
Overview: TUSAIDIE WASICHANA WAELIMIKE (“Support Girls to Learn”) is an awardee of the prestigious DREAMS Innovation Challenge.
The
project aims to support girls from Nairobi’s informal settlements to stay in
school at key dropout points by making schools more girl-friendly and
gender-equitable and by advocating to the private sector to expand scholarships
for project participants.
The
TUSAIDIE WASICHANA WAELIMIKE project manager will be responsible for the
overall vision, leadership, and project management, including technical and
budgetary oversight and work with partners and stakeholders.
The
project manager ensures timely planning, implementation, coordination with
partners, monitoring, and evaluation of all project activities.

also have experience working with schools and demonstrated knowledge of
