Our Client: The firm has been established with the vision of building a Pan African network of Colocation Data Centers. 

The firm will build and operate a state of the art, (Tier 3), vendor and carrier neutral data centers to serve a broad spectrum of clients - telecom carriers, ISPs and peering points, IT and cloud providers, content providers and corporates. 

The company’s objective is to be the largest independent colocation data center operator in Africa over the next five years. 

Job Title: 
Sales Manager  


Job Purpose: Individual who’s highly driven, quantitative, process & detail oriented and who will develop sales in Kenya.

Job Location: Nairobi

Responsibilities
  • Identifying potential customers and work out a plan to engage with them
  • Follow up and develop proposals that go to customers with regular follow up
  • Work on contracts in tandem with lawyers
  • Build sales collateral relevant for the industry of the customer’s engaged
  • Managing pipeline
  • Representing the company at Industry events
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Completed a graduate business degree or MBA program in an analytical field or business field (e.g.
  • Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance, Management etc.)
  • 1-4 years’ work experience in a quantitative field, technology or sales
  • A strong network in the IT and Financial Services sector in Kenya
  • Good Excel skills, financial modelling skills will be an excellent advantage
  • Can work in a non-office environment and is able to deliver without active supervision
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross- functional environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including advance PowerPoint/presentation ability

Job Title: Customer Implementation Manager   
 

Reporting To: CEO

Job Purpose: Secure installations and new implementation for customers according to technical customer requirements within service, time and pricing expectations/guidelines.

Job Location: Nairobi

Responsibilities

A. Customer Implementation Management

Task: Ensure efficient implementation of customer requirements and specifications
  • Defines customer requirements and translates these into a customer implementation plan, including timeline and deliverables (BE sheet)
  • Provides technical support during installation, according to customer requirements
  • Undertakes testing and commissioning installations
  • Acts as technical/commercial interface between customer and the company.
  • Co-ordinates CIM team
  • Contributes to operational strategy, together with MD and managers
  • Provides input into power and cooling issues within data centres
  • Undertakes administration for CIM processes
Task: Co-ordinate allocation of third parties
  • Procures and allocates vendors and sub-contractors for installation of new equipment, based on customer requirements and optimal allocation
  • Follows up on termination requests and settle partner agreements
  • Co-ordinates sub-contractors and vendors
B. Capacity Planning
  • Keeps up-to-date with data centre developments in terms of capacity planning 

  • Contributes to power upgrade projects, new data centre projects and further development, as required 

  • Prepares monthly capacity planning reports for the MD to determine where risks lie 

C. Sales Support
 
Task: Provide input into sales process
  • Provides technical and pricing input into sales proposals to generate appropriate offers
  • Prepares planning proposals in relation to technical resources available
  • Processes customer order forms (non-recurring sales)
D. Technical Support
 
Task: Act as technical back-up for customers and engineers
  • Acts as single point of contact for customers and technical and operational issues during implementation
  • Acts as a second line escalation point for Site Engineers
  • Maintains log sheets and procedures (Nordics)
  • Prepare build-out business cases in accordance with corporate engineering counterparts
  • Provides 24/7 technical support, as required
E. Other
 
Task: Ensure resources available
  • Purchases material required for implementation of customer requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Educated to Bachelor level, preferably in a technical field
  • Qualified electrician certificate would be a distinct advantage 
  • 4 – 6 years’ experience working in an electro-technical environment within a large company,
  • 3 – 5 years people management experience required  
  • Experience in data centres or a similar environment is considered a significant advantage

  • Collaborate with the CEO and COO to create strategic growth plans and to raise the equity and working capital needed to implement these plans
  • Lead and work on Structuring equity instruments to raise capital

  • Be able to build and create high quality term sheets and negotiate with potential investors

  • Coordinate tax and audit filings in each country of operation
