Our History, Mission and Services: AIC Kijabe Hospital is a church based hospital established 100 years ago in 1915 by Africa Inland Missionaries (AIM). 

Having a bed capacity of 363 beds and a busy outpatient, the hospital serves over 120,000 in-patients over 10,000 outpatients annually. 

The hospital also runs a busy theatre which conducts over 10,000 surgeries every year.

Linen Coordinator Position

Purpose of the Coordinator
 
The Coordinator is responsible for supervising and overseeing the Linen function of the hospital. This includes overseeing procurement, production of linen (incl uniforms) and maintenance (washing and repairs). 

Reporting to Nursing Director through the respective manager, the candidate must have the following qualifications and attributes:

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in Laundry techniques and managing a busy laundry will be essential. 
  • Experience in tailoring and fashion design in tailoring will be an added advantage
Skills and Personal Attributes
  • A born again and committed Christian with evidence of maturity in faith
  • An honest person full of integrity in your personal conduct and handling of job responsibilities
  • High standards of grooming and personal etiquette
Outpatient Services Manager 
 
Reporting to the Nursing Director and working closely with the Medical Services Outpatient head, the holder of this position will be responsible for ALL Outpatient Services at the hospital (incl. Marira Clinic). 

The role involves leading and managing assistant managers reporting directly to this position. The incumbent will also oversee other assistant managers in the Medical Division as far as Outpatient Services are concerned. 

This role will also be responsible for growth and monitoring of the Outpatient Services which is a key revenue point for the hospital. 
 
Night Manager
 
Reporting to the Nursing Director and critical care and Maternal health manager working closely with all nurses, Department assistants, Students and all other staff in the hospital on night and weekends. 

The holder of this position will be expected to liaise with the relevant Medical Division Sub Division heads in addressing patient’s issues. 

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Personal Attributes Required: 
 
Education Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Health Care /Systems degree. A master degree will be an added advantage. Internal candidates pursuing a Nursing degree in the final stages can apply.
  • Desirable: Masters in Nursing or Health Care Management or Advanced Diploma in a Nursing Specialty
Education Qualifications for Night Manager
  • KRCHN with registration in good standing (NCK)
  • At least 2 years of nursing leadership or at least 3 years of nursing experience with an exemplary track record.
Working Experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Assistant Manager or department in-charge position or as an Advanced Nurse (or equivalent) in a similar institution.

  • A critical thinker, decisive and analytical in decision making
  • Ability to influence, lead a team, develop others and create partnerships for delivery of results
  • Business acumen and understanding of stewardship of resources in a Nursing setup.
