Bid Manager Job in Kenya

Our Client, an international company specializing in the sales of medical, material handling, lifting, warehousing and storage solutions, power generators, construction materials and industrial plant equipment wishes to recruit for the following positions:

Bid Manager

Reporting to the executive management, the successful candidate shall be responsible for:
  • Taking the lead on several bids - depending on Sales need.
  • Adherence to internal governance process
  • Ensuring that customer deadlines are met and responses issued in line with customer requirements
  • End to end delivery of the bid response from qualification through to bid closure and support the Sales team in providing the response to the prospect.
  • Coordination of the bid qualification and ensuring that each proposal meets the minimum criteria to enter the bid process.
  • Management of the delivery of the bid response in line with the defined process, this includes delivery of a bid plan and bid budget
  • Challenging the costs captured to ensure that they are reflective of the requirements
  • Provision of status updates to key stakeholders on bid progress
  • Proactively managing risks, issues and dependencies
  • Development of key Supplier relationships to support the delivery of a proposition, this will be delivered in conjunction with the product and business teams
  • Ensuring that the all external documentation adheres to branding standards
  • Maintaining information on bid status
  • Ensuring that lessons learnt from previous bids are tracked and reviewed before each bid and where mitigating actions have been identified that these are followed through
  • Gain product knowledge for a broad understanding of the services and solution offered
Qualification and Skills:
  • Business / Engineering degree
  • Minimum 2 years in tender management/ similar role
  • APMP Qualified added advantage
  • Assertive yet tactful in motivating others to produce a successful submission.
  • Excellent time management, efficiency, with the ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
  • Leadership and team work
  • Ability to remain calm and productive under pressure
  • Aptitude for handling complex business relationships and managing multiple resources to deliver a strong, winning case to the prospective client.
  • Articulate, confident speaker with strong written communication skills
Remuneration: Commensurate to experience, skills & qualification
