The International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK) is an NGO involved in reproductive health research and programme implementation. 

ICRHK will be implementing a cluster randomized controlled trial study {Women’s Health Intervention Using SMS for PREventing Pregnancy (WHISPER) and SMS for nutritional Health OUTcomes (SHOUT)} in Mombasa. 

The trial aims at improving reproductive health and nutrition health using SMS delivered via phone among female sex workers in Mombasa. 

We invite applications for the following positions;

Clinician Counsellors: Clinical Officer or Nurse

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Diploma in Nursing (KRN or KRM) for Nurse Counsellors
  • Certified in HIV testing and counselling by relevant bodies
  • 3 years working experience in clinical research, particularly among key populations
  • Experience working in Mombasa will be an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent Kiswahili and English languages
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and over long hours
  • Good oral and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Registration with relevant regulatory bodies a must.

Research Assistants

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social science or related discipline.
  • 3 year practical experience in collection of data through surveys, In-depth interviews and focussed group discussions among Key populations.
  • Experience working in Mombasa will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of ethical issues relating to the conduct of research on human subjects.
  • Strong attention to detail and writing skills that should include the ability to develop comprehensive field notes and high notch reports for qualitative analysis.
  • High level interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with the study populations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and open minded.
