Accountant Job in Kenya

Our client, a Supplier of Top Quality Beef is looking to recruit an Accountant who is self motivated and willing to relocate to the Maasai Mara. 

The ideal candidate MUST have above 2 years experience in accounting in an agricultural sector.  

He/she will be responsible for providing financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data; preparing reports and should be a CPA-K holder.
Key Responsibilities;
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
  • Summarize current financial status by; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Comply with federal, state and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Qualifications;
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
  • Must be a CPA (K).
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in accounting or finance department.
  • Capable of setting up systems and should be conversant with SFAS Rules.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software tools, including Quick-books and spreadsheets..
  • Ability to understand and apply current accounting guidelines.
  • Conduct system and policy updates.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative nature.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 50,000 - 100,000/= (Approx. 500 - 1,000 USD) depending on experience
