Receptionist

Job Scope: JJJ Clinic receptionist facilitates the delivery of health care by performing vital customer service and administrative tasks.  

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Engage and interact with patients, customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous, respectful and professional manner.
  • Manage optimal order of patient visitations based on emergencies
  • Schedule appointments for new & returning patients.
  • Review paperwork with new patients, explain benefits of community clinic
  • Administratively manage visits in accordance with clinic regulations.
  • Responsible for medical record maintenance through entry of data to the MRS and front office record keeping procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and organized work station / environment.
  • Maintain personal confidentiality.
  • Correspond timely, accurately and professionally with physician offices,
  • Inventory and maintenance of business office supplies.

Position: Nurse
 
Location: Kibera
 
Reports to: Health Services Program Officer
 
Hours: Mon- Fri, 8:00am to 4:00pm and two Saturdays a month

Main purpose of the job: 
The job holder is responsible for providing holistic nursing services to outpatients within Shofco’s Clinic

Key Responsibilities:
  • Aiding CO as required during treatment, examination and testing of patients;
  • Ensure that all required observations, prescribed treatment and procedures are properly carried out and documented on patient’s charts.
  • Refer to the CO relevant information such as patient’s status and laboratory results, which would assist in proper clinical management.
  • Participate in community health surveys/campaigns
  • Participate in training of community health workers
  • Preparing equipment and ensuring examination rooms are clean and stocked with required supplies and materials;
  • Administering prescribed medications, injections and treatments in accordance with nursing standards;
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned

  • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized college preferably KMTC
  • Registered member of nursing council of Kenya
  • At least 2 years post College working experience

Position:Nutritionist
 
Location: Kibera
 
Reports to: Health Services Programs Officer
 
Hours: Monday- Friday, 8am to 4pm, 2 Saturday a month

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Take a lead role in developing the clinic’s nutrition program at both technical and administrative levels.
  • Provide nutrition assessment for special needs clients and those identified at high nutritional risk and develop and implement dietary-care plans and nutritional counselling.
  • Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, including food selection and preparation.
  • Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
  • Develop nutrition outreach tools, such as pamphlets or other materials
  • Provide nutritional outreach in the community via classes, health talks and collaboration with other SHOFCO programs
  • Complete monthly reports as required by the GoK and SHOFCO
  • Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.
Mandatory Requirements

Position: Pharmacist
 
Location: Kibera
 
Reports to: Health Services Program Officer
 
Hours: Mon- Fri, 8:00am to 4:00pm and two Saturdays a Month

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare and dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceutical preparations according to patients' prescription.
  • Provide advice for non-prescription medications
  • Monitor drugs and other medical supplies levels and initiate the procurement process.
  • Take inventory and track medication and supply orders
  • Keep records of all drug stocks ordered, drugs issued to clients and stocks remaining.
  • Prepare and submit reports on daily sales undertaken and achievement to the management as required.
  • Arrange drugs in the required manner
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers which includes clinics, doctors, hospitals and other institutions
  • Monitor storage conditions i.e. expiry status and security of the pharmaceuticals
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
  • Must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poison Board
  • Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
  • At least 2 years working experience in a similar position, preferably in a busy hospital set up
  • Must be computer literate and be able to manage software programs.

Position: Clinical Officer 
 
Location: Kibera
 
Reports to: HSPO
 
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4pm, and two Saturdays a month
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clerking, examination, diagnosing and treatment of patients;
  • Prescription of medications;
  • Maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts and other pertinent information;
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality;
  • Responding to enquiries relating to patients, lab requests, x-rays, prescription requests, etc.;
  • Coordinating appointments for specialist referrals, x-rays lab testing, etc and conveying pertinent instructions and information to the patient;
  • Attending to CCC patients and managing opportunistic infections;
  • Conducting continuous medical education and health educations as may be required
  • Work as a team member with staff of other cadres in ensuring quality service provision
  • Being accountable for any equipment assigned and reporting to the line manager as may be required.
  • Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.

Job Title:
 Clinic Social Worker

Main Purpose of the job: To offer quality care to all clients / patients seeking healthcare services through psychological support to both the client / patient and the family, in order to achieve organization objectives


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health screenings and initial assessments to clients.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the primary care providers to improve health outcomes.
  • Use knowledge and understanding of the reciprocal influences of home, and community to intervene for client’s success via such practices as assessment, crisis intervention and response, home visits, conflict resolution, individual and group counseling, consultation, program development, and coordination of home and community services.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed.
  • Preparing of socio-psychiatric history information, psychosocial assessment, and social work treatment plans for use in pre-admission screening and diagnosis.
  • Develop long-term and short-term intervention plans consistent with the client’s needs, strengths, diversity and life experiences; and social and emotional factors.
  • Use a variety of appropriate formal and informal tools and techniques including observations and interviews to evaluate the progress and performance of clients and families.
  • Investigate child abuse or neglect cases and take authorized protective action when necessary.
  • Refer patient, client, or family to community resources to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness and to provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement or education.
  • Counsel clients and patients in individual and group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, recover from illness, and adjust to life.

Position: Lab Technologist
 
Location: Kibera 
 
Reports to: Health Services Program Officer
 
Working Hours:Monday- Friday, 8am to 4pm, 2 Saturday a month

Job Scope: This role will be to receive, verify, analyze and record results on appropriate forms and report results promptly to the clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare the laboratory equipment and specimens for tests
  • Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of reagents
  • Specimen collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and dispatch of results from patients.
  • Preparation and storage reagents
  • Documenting all processes and results to ensure availability of supportive information
  • Implementing all set stock control procedures to ensure accountability
  • Ensure superior customer experience to all internal and external community members
  • Compile reports on activities undertaken
  • Maintain high standards in good laboratory practice, laboratory safety, and laboratory hygiene
  • Any other official duty that relates to your work.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent knowledge and previous experience in microbiology and light microscopy.
  • Ability to work well in a team and with minimum supervision.
  • Good laboratory and analytical skills
  • At least 2 years experience working in a busy clinical
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board.
