Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Finance Officer is responsible for the proper management of the books of accounts, efficient tax planning, day to day cash flow management, development of financial strategies.
 

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement internal financial controls across all functions in the Company; and ensure compliance to internal procedures, financial polices & standards, and statutory financial regulations
  • Responsible for the preparation of the financial, management reports and record keeping through the finance team
  • Financial Analysis of the business, financial and general operating information to identify trends and opportunities for development and produce management information to ensure that business developments remain financially viable
  • Capital Management by ensuring optimization of available cash & liquidity requirements and ensure optimal returns
  • Responsible for the Budgeting and Planning process
  • Responsible for tax compliance and liaison with tax authority and advisers

Credit Controller
 
Reporting to Finance Manager - responsible for the proper management of debtors book and efficient credit control

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement internal controls in credit management and ensure compliance to internal credit procedures.
  • Responsible for the debt collection
  • Coordinate credit reviews.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to efficiently manage credits
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting, CPA or ACCA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position

Financial and Management Accountants

Claims Officer
 
Reporting to the Assistant Claims Manager
 

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Dealing with service providers
  • Handling facultative and third party recoveries
  • Preparing periodic and ad hoc claims analysis reports
  • Corresponding with producers, clients and third parties
  • Customer relationship service
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • CII or IIK progress – at least five papers
  • 3 years’ minimum experience in a busy claims department

Underwriter – General Business and Medical
 
Reporting to the Underwriting Manager
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for acceptance and maintenance of business and managing relationships with clients
  • Advising the department on underwriting and claims processing
  • Member Education and Health Talks.
  • Managing Service Level Agreements (SLA) to ensure sustainability of policies.
  • Developing relations with intermediaries and introduce new intermediaries.
  • Risk assessment, rating and acceptance
  • Policy administration and management
  • Customer relationship service and query resolution
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum BCom (Insurance) Degree and ongoing professional qualifications (ACII or AIIK)
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Ability to analyse risks and make recommendations.

Bancassurance Manager
 
Reporting to the Business Development Manager
 

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement the company strategy in regard to banc assurance business as per the set company guidelines and strategic plan.
  • Develop new and maintain existing partnerships with various banks locally and regionally.
  • Develop production targets and review performance on monthly basis.
  • Participate in development of new products for banc assurance customers.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field
  • Professional certification in Insurance will be an added advantage
  • Proven experience of marketing insurance products.
  • Experience of developing profitable distribution channels for Insurance Products and services.

Underwriting Manager
 
Reporting to the Operations Manager - General Business
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure prudent underwriting by developing and implementing the Underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate invitation of renewals and follow ups.
  • Monitor performance of business underwritten.
  • Ensure prompt preparation of cover notes and policy documents.
  • Guide the Marketing Department on new products.
  • Manage and control renewals ensuring that documentation is sent to client/broker.
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Manage retention and minimise loss ratios
Qualifications and Experience
  • Candidate must have a Degree in the relevant field in business and ACII qualifications.
  • Seven (7) Years working experience in General Insurance, three (3) of which should be in Underwriting Department as a Leader.
Claims Manager – Life / General
 
Reporting to the Operations Manager
 
The overall responsibility will be to provide Leadership to the Department Team and ensure customer satisfaction.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management of claims department
  • Adequate reserving and regular review
  • Manage settlement of claims and ensure efficient claims processing

Care Manager
 
Reports to Operations Manager - Medical
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage 24 hour call centre
  • Management and approval of medical care services.
  • Liaising with medical service providers.
  • Customer and intermediaries relationship and query resolution
  • Liaising with underwriting section on scope of cover for various schemes (New and Renewals)
  • Managing stakeholders in line with SLAs
  • Assist in conducting provider audits wherever necessary.
  • Organize for Client Health Education / wellness check-ups.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree holders preferably in clinical studies (Nursing)
  • Basic understanding of the concepts of insurance

  • Formulate and Implement Human Resource Policies and Procedures

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • On request from the Managing Director or Business Unit Head, attend selected committee meetings on his/her behalf including operational risk forums and project steering committees to stay up to date with operational conditions and provide early warning any probable issues and proposed solutions.
  • Ensure that tactical decisions taken by the Managing Director or Business Unit Head are communicated to the correct audience in a timely manner and gauge the understanding and commitment from the audience.
  • Act as initial point of entry for escalated client queries. Redistribute the resolution or respond directly to the stakeholders where appropriate and report only major issues to the Managing Director or Business Unit Head.

Personal Assistant to MD
 
Reporting to the Managing Director
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the diary of the MD, in an efficient manner by using Outlook, to set up meetings requested by the line MD or to accept meetings requested by others where the MD’s presence is needed.
  • Track and monitor the acceptances and declines obtained from the relevant parties that have been invited to the meeting. Where possible, resolve issues independently but where needed escalate any concerns and issues to the MD
  • Liaise with relevant parties to re-schedule any meetings, based on a request from either the MD or the original meeting organiser.
  • Liaise with the travel agency to make the travel bookings for any domestic and international trips the MD is required to make and in so doing ensure adherence to the required travel approval process.
Qualifications and Experience
