Alumni Coordinator Job in Kenya

Duma Works is recruiting an Alumni Coordinator for McKinsey Social Initiative.

Generation is a global youth employment programme that helps provide young adults the opportunity to launch successful careers and change their life trajectories – closing the skills gap and easing youth unemployment. 

Generation is the first programme of McKinsey Social Initiative (“MSI”), an independent non-profit organization.

The alumni coordinator will report to the programme manager and will be responsible for collecting data on all students who have graduated from the programme, ensuring the good performance of those students and organising all events related to alumni relations.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, manage and analyse data on students that have graduated from the programme to ascertain:
1.    Employment status and reason of attrition (if any).
2.    Get data on industries of 2nd job placement (if any).
3.    Level of excitement and enthusiasm for employer.
4.    Requirement for additional coaching.
5.    Level of well-being, financial and otherwise.
  • Investigate when additional support is required for students to succeed as high-achievers in their roles and provide access to that support.
  • Implement, manage and continuously improve employment drop-outs strategy.
  • Identify themes to be communicated to employers to help them create nurturing environments for young people.
  • Communicate feedback of alumni to programme managers and coordinators to improve programmes, furthering Generation’s goal of closing the skills gap.
  • Build a strong alma mater brand.
  • Build a strong community of Generation alumni where they feel resonance with the brand and a sense of belonging.
  • Manage the effectiveness of the family group programme to ensure community building starts during the programme.
  • Funnel references to feed mobilisation processes of various Generation programmes.
  • Manage mentorship programme.
  • Organise graduation events and all associated press engagement.
  • Organise alumni connectivity events.
Mindsets & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience coordinating programmes.
  • Experience preparing youth for employment.

  • Well-developed sense of attention to detail.

Job Type: This role is a full-time position with an expected start date of 1 June 2016. The expected minimum duration is 12 months, with a strong possibility to continue. Probation period is three months.
