Accounting Analyst
 
Purpose of the Position: The Accounting Analyst has responsibility for journal processing, general ledger reviews, intercompany transactions, fixed assets accounting and reconciliations; account payable support at the local presence office, filing of periodic tax returns as well as process optimization that lead to efficient and effective management of the RFC financial processes in the local presence office.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate general ledger transaction processing such as raising journals and intercompany transactions
  • Support the account payable process by receiving invoices, scan, maintain log and file supporting documents. Coordinating with local vendors on payments and by following up on queries regarding payments and invoice status
  • Prepare documents to facilitate approval and disbursements against non-PO payments, UPRs etc
  • Follow-up on work-flows, RFAs and UPRs to ensure Purchase to Pay processes are operating seamlessly
  • Initiate debit notes and invoicing for recharges and other receivables from bottlers and follow-up with franchise as
  • well as raising intercompany transactions on the SAP Intercompany tool
  • Train new and existing users in SAP (expensing, POs, GRNs etc), resolve SAP queries and support users to optimize the utilization of SAP.
  • Prepare JVs to accrue or provide for OPEX and items as required at month-end; maintain schedule of prepayments and
  • ensuring a follow-up on General Ledger reconciling items and raise any required adjustment JVs
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register
  • Assist in the preparation of RFAs and following through to ensure prompt approvals
  • Administer the BTM and petty cash disbursement process
  • Prepare all relevant tax returns
  • Assist ASM and AP Team in reconciliation of Balance Sheet account, GRIR, PO-Invoice matching and Vendor accounts
  • Assist the LEC and RC with detailed analysis of SAP transactions, preparation of schedules for audits and other assigned duties
Job Specifications:
  • B com degree (Accounting Option)
  • Pursuing an Accountant qualification (ACCA or CPA)
  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience preferably within the FMCG sector
  • SAP knowledge
  • Advanced excel knowledge
  • Keenness to detail
  • High level of integrity
