Their corporate office is located in Mauritius with 25 other offices spread across major cities in France, India, Madagascar, Mozambique, Reunion Island and Bangladesh. 

The company leverages their excellent relationships with shipping lines, airlines and agents to deliver tailor-made supply chain solutions. 

The company has just established presence in East Africa via a partnership with a leading local company in Kenya.

About the Role: The role is a project based role for a period of 4 months and based in Mombasa, Kenya. 
 
The Project Manager is expected to work closely with the team in Mauritius and the company in Kenya to help implement the processes, IT systems and conduct training to bring the Kenyan organization in line with the parent company standards.
 
Though the role is defined for a period of 4 months, there is a very good chance that this will become a full time role based for the group in East Africa. 

Specific tasks for the role will be as follows:
  • Map the current finance and accounting processes in the company in Kenya
  • Understand the finance and accounting processes requirements of the parent company
  • Prepare a plan to transition plan along with a project manager in Mauritius to help company in Kenya transition to the new process with additional control systems in place
  • Conduct training of staff in Kenya with the new systems
  • Work with Quickbooks / Sage resellers in Kenya to make any system related changes required
  • Document the processes in a Finance Manual which will be shared with all and updated at all times
Requirements
  • Academic qualifications - The candidate must be a chartered accountant
  • Work experience - The candidate must have at least 5 years of work experience as Chief Accountant, Financial Controller or another similar role
  • Location - the candidate must be willing to be based in Mombasa for the period
  • Communication Skills - the candidate should be in possession of excellent written and oral communication skills
  • IT skills - the candidate must possess good computer skills specifically around MS Excel, Outlook. For financial systems, the candidate must have worked with Sage and Quickbooks systems
  • Personality - should possess positive attitude, can-do spirit and should be fun to work with. Uncompromising ethical standards are a must
